I had neither the tools, skills, nor interest in building my own and was delighted at the result. Of course, the box did not strictly adhere to the fEarful spec and was, quite frankly, ridiculed by some for various features that were, in their eyes, shortcomings (different porting, variable mid pad, box shape, blah blah blah ad nauseum). The cab killed. I dug Don's way of doing business and was thoroughly satisfied. I recently ordered a 12/6 to match. It won't adhere to Greenboy's plans, so it is not a fEarful cab and no money is due Greenboy, although I respect his contribution to the TB community. On the other hand, IMHO, aggressive/insulting posts by him or anyone else do nothing but make others with opposing views dig in their proverbial heels and become even less open to listening. If someone wants me to listen to his side, respect and calm logic are the tools required for a chance of success.

I have two of Don's cabs on the way right now, hopefully. Haven't got shipping details yet, but he called and said they were ready, so I paid them off and now I wait!

These are unloaded boxes, strait up 1x12's made for my pair of S2012 Basslites I have hanging around.

Can't wait to get them!

A buddy of mine has an LDS 15/6 nEarful that I got to spend some time with. It's a sharp looking cab that is pretty well built, but it came stock with an Eminence crossover that had a bulb on the midrange which would totally distort if your cranked up or dug in at all. ***? Total fail IMO and someone that builds cabs professionally should have known better. If you are going to use a stock Xover, it should at least be implemented correctly. We ripped that sucker out and put in the GB crossover I built and it was a different cab, night and day. I'd have to say that if you are going to get a "nEarful" from LDS, at least get him to put a custom crossover in it; with a random stock unit (and this goes for the Erse (I think) that was his 15/6/1 that we also ripped out and replaced), there is nothing "near" about them in tone or performance.

I have a "nEarful" built by Don, and the crossover is custom made by Ralf Patterson.

The way fan-bois of various ilks jump into opposing camps *club threads* and bash each other is one of the things I rrrreallllly don't like about TB in general, and amps in specific.

Well, it's a ported cab with a fairly aggressive horn, so, it's not gonna sound like an ampeg 810.
I think I'd like it, but if you want a "vintage sounding cab" for your ampeg, it might not be the best choice.
Though with the horn turned off, it might work well for that sound.
It still won't "feel" like a sealed cab though.
