That's much heavier then the Jags I've set up. How was it for balance and/or neck dive?

That'll teach me to make assumptions
Be aware it has completely different electronics to a standard Stingray so I have no idea what it sounds like. I made the suggestion soley based on you owning a stingray and assuming you loved it's sound but not it's playability

Do you regret not buying it?Well....My local Craigslist had a Squire Precision Bass with a Jazz bass neck for sale for $250. I have a Fender jazz already, two old Japanese basses, an upright, a baritone guitar and a Mexican Guitarron. I really wanted a P-bass, even a Squire, but like you I am not in a group, my best songwriting buddy is leaving, I am not even jamming with anyone else at the moment and I chose not to pursue it. Today it's not for sale.
Did I NEED another bass? Of course not.
I chose the Squier Jag, because I heard the Bronco sucks, and it is still basically a Fender instrument, so if I change the pups, the tuners and the bridge, I can get a great instrument if I ever want to.
I've been playing bass for decades and I love the Mustang, but I'm lefty, and Fender doesn't feel there's a market for lefty's.
Would you happen to know what body shape the Mustang uses -- maybe a Strat or similar? I wish I could put a sunburst Mustang clone from Warmoth parts. I'm sure it will break 1K USD by the time I'm done.
I own a Harley Benton clubi think the best thing to do is go to a music store and try some bass's see what you like. [you have a harley benton there a there is a thread just for harley benton's on talk bass ]![]()
Hi! You may also consider buying a MIM Mustang bass ... they can be found at reasonable prices, nee ir second hand, they are short scale but they play solid bass tones ... tried one in Paris in 2017 and it was a funkey bass ..Yeah, I think that's the issue. Maybe the Jag is a good idea then.
Yeah, I was just about to say that. Here in Portugal, there aren't many Mustangs being sold secondhand. I pretty much browse the classifieds everyday, and I check all the websites, that's how I got such a good deal on the HB. Anyway, I'm not really ready to spend that much money on a bass, especially if I'm going for it blind, since whatever I choose I'll have to buy from the Internet without ever trying it. I know Thomman, for instance, has a good policy on returns, but I'd prefer to save the trouble. And besides, the Mustang really is out of my price range. Even the Jag is out of my price range. Have I mentioned that I'm a kid from Portugal? You're leaning towards a SS Jag based on your budget and needs. You have made an excellent choice! People love to point out more expensive or unobtainable hear (in Portugal) - that doesn't help you any. I have a SS Jag and I love mine! Yes I've done a mod but it wasn't mandatory. It has LaBella flats, I have it set up perfectly and it plays great! I think you'll love one, I wish you much luck!
