Fair and balanced review of the 845, and this is coming from the owner of a BTB846 and 6 SRs. Dunno what you don't like about the headstock though; there are plenty worse out there.

Pickups: yep a bit meh, but not too bad, but what do you want for $949 considering the rest of the spec? Add $400 for some Nordies fitted and you're getting a lot of bass for 1/2 the price of a US made Stingray. I'd have the BTB any day as an all rounder for that.

Locking jack: easy to mod to make it non locking and the mod is reversible. Takes 5 mins with a screwdriver and then is a better jack than just about anything on the market.

Body edge: I don't rest my arm that way so not an issue for me, but it certainly is for other users as noted in the BTB thread. Probably Ibanez should change it as it would be good for those who don't like it, but those like me it would make no difference and cost $0. It might even look better showing the body layers.

Overall I prefer the narrower spacing of the SRs, but NT SR/BTB hybrid with better pickups, or at least the pickups EMG sized to make for more replacement options would be great for my tastes. One of the EHB 6s would likely get my $ though if I were to buy another.

Thanks! I don't hate the headstock, but don't love it either. I should try that locking jack mod with my EHB! So glad you're enjoying the videos :)

Hey everyone, sadly no videos this week. I unfortunately came down with COVID (I'm not saying COVID on youtube to avoid negative algorithm impact). I'm feeling great now and have made a full recovery, but sadly still testing positive so I need to remain quarantined and isolated for a little bit more. I should be back next weekend with a new video for you all :).

Thanks! Me too. TBH I was a bit terrified for the first couple of days. The fatigue and 'brain fog' were no joke. With my brain and hands being what drives my professional life and hobbies, the thought of lasting cognitive impairment was really scary. The other symptoms were like a hefty flu, but some ibuprofin helped managed those symptoms until they passed. I'm very fortunate.

Totally understandable. I've gone three rounds with Covid and the last was the worst. It was one of the variants I'm fairly certain. The feeling of razor blades in my throat and the feeling of having been run over by a Mack truck was definitely the worst part.
