Lowest Priced New Basses Ever??

Well, the "betting" is over and now it's time to see the flop, turn, and river!

I'm so curious what you guys and gals get. With such low stakes, I wish I had gotten one in time. I have a Glarry jazz in burlywood and it's oddly satisfying to play. Big fat neck with fret ends that need some filing (going to learn how to do it myself...) but it's really pretty. My music friends always ooooh at it. I lowered the action (new to me, too) and that's what I love about the bass. I can mess with it without thinking I'm going to screw up. I have a Geddy Lee Jazz that is obviously nicer. I play it more but I don't dare mess with it! : )

the seller now has 4 negative feedbacks, 3 from the same guy, all posted today.

and yes, everything he/they had for sale is sold or the listings removed.

stay tuned!
I saw that too but the thing that doesn't make sense is that the seller only listed the items mentioned in the negative feedback within the past 2 days. How could any buyer possibly know if the items would be delivered or not after only a couple of days?

I first posted about this seller's big price drop only 3 days ago (Thursday 2/27), although it seems like longer than that with all the discussion it has generated. At that time the only musical items he had listed were the Blue and Sunburst basses. Over the subsequent days he has listed several other music items, including the items mentioned in the negative feedback.

Even if they were warehoused in New Jersey, as the previous item I got from him was, I wouldn't expect them to be delivered yet. So I can't see how anyone can say it's a scam . . . yet.

Time will tell whether or not his listings are legit. If they turn out to be a scam eBay will refund the modest amount paid. Given the turmoil caused by the virus I wouldn't be surprised if shipping takes a bit longer than estimated. Ebay has said as much. I'll be patient.

Actually that's one of those misleading listings. When you go to the pulldown menu to choose a color one of the choices is a guitar stand - that's the $14 item. Choose a bass and the price is $68.54.

These have been available for years now at under $60 from other sellers.

I think everyone who is taking part in this deal pretty much understands they are risking around 20 whole dollars US for a chance at a cheap project bass.

Simmer down, partner. Nobody here is risking their life savings investing in Enron or Bernie Madoff. I also don’t get the impression anyone else here thinks they need you to save them from a terrible financial decision, either. We’re talking 20 bucks here...
Call your credit card company and tell them you bought the bass even though you knew or should have known the transaction was fraudulent. Also tell them you did it because you believed there was no risk to you and that eBay and the credit card company would have to assume the entire risk and eat the costs pursuant to the agreement.

Link posted in EVERY eBay listing. Why would anybody have reason to believe this listing is fraudulent?

eBay Money Back Guarantee

eBay is making the guarantee that all is good. I would believe them.

If you already purchased the Glarry and you received a tracking number, send the seller a message asking for their name, address, telephone number and China business license number. Let them know you want to verify their information with the Ministry of Justice in Beijing. When you don’t receive a proper response, notify your credit card company immediately that you suspect a potential fraud and are placing them on notice of a possible problem. This will protect you. You can’t sit on your hands for 5 weeks and do nothing waiting for your Glarry to arrive because it’s not coming. You better tell them now. And if all your dreams come true and you receive your harmonious Glarry bass that’s like a 6 string guitar with only 4 strings by April 27, 2020, you can contact the cc company and let them know it’s ok to process the payment.

It does look like a scam I'm afraid. I queried why the destination showed as the US when I live in the UK, and he replied:

"Hello, because of the impact of the epidemic, the package needs to be transferred to the United Kingdom after arriving in the United States!

If you are not willing to wait, I can give you a full refund and look forward to your reply!"

They might be shipped east to the US. Maybe to a US address before it ships to the UK. IDK.
