today they're $14! next year they may be $150!
on disease:
"It’s a legitimate question — especially in California — because we import so many products from China. But U.S. health officials said on Monday that there is no evidence to support the transmission of the new coronavirus through imported goods. “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures"..."
on political/consumerism/etc.
i'm apolitical on retirement income:
i'm free to buy anything i can afford.
on cheap:
the chinese do cheap better than anyone else. i bought the $14 blu one yesterday, on a lark, but my previous purchase of the glarry ax turned out to be a wise one! for those who are into modding and tinkering = these things are a great deal! here's where i took my glarry (different neck --- also chinese!):

this ax weighs 6.2 lbs, plays like a dream, yada yada --- it's crazy good! i'm an advocate of great axes for cheap. i've played them all, love them all, etc., but creating an ax from/for pennies (compared to comparable off-the-rack, special orders, or even custom-built bolt-ons) is a hoot. i've gigged with that modified P and the only reason it's not my #1 is that i prefer PJs for gigs...but that ax is
killer! (and it's fun because of the low weight!)
however, if you want to open a box, take out an instrument, and rush to your rehearsal = you'll likely be disappointed. they all need setups, of course, and possibly other kinds of attention depending on your goals/tolerances.
anyway, you can see what others have done to these uber lightweight cheapies in order to get good-to-great, customized, playable axes for pennies! check out the goodness here:

good luck to those of you who are taking advantage!
to those who 'take a pass' = sorry you're missing out!
