Lowest Priced New Basses Ever??

"Gosh, you used to have companies here in America that kept product on hand, would directly ship you what you ordered, and had good customer service. I wonder why they all went away? And why is there so much pollution in the Far East, anyway?"

It's the world that we voted for, one dollar at a time.

There always has be a few riders of the high horse in these threads. No one is buying these basses INSTEAD of a name brand from a reputable source. If you honestly believe that these things are going to be the fall of western civilizations, I don’t know what to tell you.
If you’re so concerned about slave labor, you should purge yourself of any and all Chinese made goods. I’m sure your phone/computer and the minerals mined to make it aren’t being produced by well paid and cared for employees. Nor are a lot of other Chinese made products.

Damn you Talkbass. Just ordered a black one and a green strat. Under $40 total. And will be getting two useless amps with those which I'd prefer to skip but there wasn't an option to skip the amps.

I have fender neck and some MiM fender P pickups. I wonder if they would fit into this? Was thinking of selling the neck but hey....

And there will always be people in these threads that can't discern what is free market from what is clearly a dumping procedure.

update. I pulled the trigger on a black one. :D

After watching a review of this guitar by Guitar Maxx on YT, $19 is ridiculous for this! We’ll see if it ever shows up!!;);):laugh:
:D
There is a bass version as well but it comes in at a price of $99.99!!

A better response would be to address claims that I have actually made, instead of resorting to logical fallaicies such as ad hominem, false either-or, etc. Thank you.

The burden of proof is on you to back up your claims. Show me where the sales of Squiers or Epiphones or any other name brand bass have suffered because of these. Or let me know when you get the numbers to show me how Sweetwater is laying off sales reps because there are $20 basses on eBay. You cant.
I also stand by my statement that if you own any sort of Chinese made electronics, you have zero moral high ground to stick your nose in a thread and start spouting off about how anyone that purchases one of these basses is contributing to the downfall of mankind. If this site is supposed to be free of politics, which it is, just ignore the thread don’t buy the bass and move along. Keep your opinions on the environment and economy to yourself. Thank you.

From the description on the ebay listing:

To create faultless bass effect, you can not lack a professional bass guitar during guitar performance. This Exquisite Burning Fire Style Electric Bass Guitar Blue is just the one we are glad to recommend to you. Though it looks quite similar to the ordinary guitar, it actually is quite different from that one when it comes to function. Compared with guitar, it features thicker strings and larger string tension. And it is located on low-pitch site, which makes it perfect in sending out wonderful bass effect. Moreover, this bass guitar adopts superb wood and synthetic material, so you can trustingly take it back home for entertaining!
Comfortable hand feeling, stylish outlook, stable performance and melodious sound

Melodious? Wasn't he one of The Three Stooges?

Thank you, that's much more concrete.

Perhaps you are using multiple layers of irony as a literary device for the sake of narrative; otherwise I have a hard time believing that you don't understand how markets work, or that other industries have been broadly disrupted by similar dumping tactics.

I'll play along. The article linked below is a start; article is from December, and mattresses work like other consumer goods in how prices drive market competition.

Mattress deals: 'Dumping' by Chinese manufacturers roils US bedding industry

USA Today Article said:
Dozens of Chinese companies flooded the American market with super-low-priced mattresses in recent years, selling them to retailers for as low as $18 in a bid to grab market share quickly, according to trade officials and mattress makers ....

The dumping has further roiled an industry that has been bedeviled by disruption in recent years, including thousands of job losses, multiple bankruptcies and hundreds of store closures. While overexpansion and American bed-in-a-box companies have been widely blamed for the industry's upheaval, the dumping case suggests that ultra-cheap Chinese mattresses have also played a significant role in undermining American businesses and jobs.

I also stand by my statement that if you own any sort of Chinese made electronics, you have zero moral high ground to stick your nose in a thread and start spouting off about how anyone that purchases one of these basses is contributing to the downfall of mankind.

I do confess to owning a cell phone, a laptop, cameras and other electronic goods. However, I don't have much choice as to the origin of those goods; all phones and many computer components, for starters, are made in China.

Consumers have many choices regarding the COO when it comes to, say, musical instruments, not to mention many other consumer goods -- and there is substantial nuance here that is being missed. I mean, does someone who sleeps in once a week lose their "moral high ground" to tell their kids when it's time to get out of bed? Does someone who drives a part-gasoline hybrid vehicle have no ground on which to advocate for the reduction of fossil fuel consumption? I offer these examples to illustrate the polarity fallacy of "all or none."

If this site is supposed to be free of politics, which it is, just ignore the thread don’t buy the bass and move along. Keep your opinions on the environment and economy to yourself. Thank you.

Thanks for the laughs!
