I fix up and give away a few instruments at Christmas time every year. I bought one to see if it can be playable enough for an entry bass for a kid. We'll see.

I bought a sunburst one. I saw in the description of the blue one that the body is 'wood and synthetic'. Reminded me of a bashed blue SX bass they had for sale on the Rondo site recently. The area under the bash looked like it was made of that spray foam insulation stuff. Not sure if that's the case, but something to think about.
