Lowest Priced New Basses Ever??

What if the people here are the ones buying them to re-sell to other Americans?
The same seller has sold from the US before. There are forwarding services that do that as well.

I prefer to buy from a US seller.
I just bought some parts from Guitar Madness for example. The parts could've been purchased a little cheaper direct from China.

On this one, it's just ridiculous... we will see.

Sure...and when I win, I'll let you keep your $15 as a 'make-up for getting scammed on eBay' present. The good news is eBay should at least refund you your original $15.

But I've seen this many a time on eBay. Chinese eBay account, does legit business long enough to get eBay not to withhold funds, offers up a ridiculous deal to get a ton of people to buy, then makes off with the money. Why would anyone legitimately sell and ship a bass that cheap? If you look at their feedback, there are none for $15 basses. But soon you will start to see lots of negative ones start pouring in.
Isn't it eBay policy to withhold funds until shipment is received? They don't get paid until we receive the goods.

While this seller is new to eBay, some of us have already purchased basses from him when he first started selling. His earlier listings were at a higher price - $34.99 for the Blue, $39.99 for the Sunburst - which was considerably less than other similar listings. Other sellers have been listing them for just under $60 for quite a while and still others list them for considerably more.

Official Exquisite/Glarry/Burning Fire Bass Club?

Unfortunately, the $40 Sunburst I ordered from him previously was damaged in shipping. I asked to return it and have him send me a replacement. He couldn't send a replacement for the first Sunburst because he was out of stock. I think he only had a small number for sale at first. I got a full refund and they told me to just keep the bass. That one was shipped from a warehouse in New Jersey. All the other sellers seem to ship from there and other locations in the U.S. too. California maybe?

This seller's most recent offerings are shipped directly from China. So no need to warehouse them in the U.S. Perhaps that's one reason they are even cheaper now? Who knows what the seller will do in the future.

When I noticed that he was selling them again I ordered a couple. Ebay says my order has been shipped and they provided a tracking number.

Other than the damage, how was the overall quality of the parts and finish?

Damn you Talkbass. Just ordered a black one and a green strat. Under $40 total. And will be getting two useless amps with those which I'd prefer to skip but there wasn't an option to skip the amps.

I have fender neck and some MiM fender P pickups. I wonder if they would fit into this? Was thinking of selling the neck but hey....
Pretty much what I'm thinking of doing...the only thing I don't have right now is a body so when/if I get this and if the neck and electronics suck, I'll build me up a decent blue P bass. Of course that is if the neck fits in the pocket. If not, I have a friend who is great luthier. I'll have him make it fit.

It's not uncommon for them to send bogus tracking numbers. I hope for everyone's sake I'm wrong, but I very highly doubt it's legit. I've also seen plenty of times where a seller that was previously legit goes rogue, lists a bunch of stuff at ridic prices, then takes the money and run.

Isn't it eBay policy to withhold funds until shipment is received? They don't get paid until we receive the goods.

For new users. Once you're deemed legit, they no longer hold the funds.

Doesn't matter on our end. Buyers are protected on eBay when paying via PayPal.

As long as the buyer can afford to be without that money for a month and change...I see some people posting they're going to put in an order once they get paid or this, that, and the other. None of my business what people do, though. My only point is I've seen this scam on eBay a lot. Not necessarily with basses, but other stuff. If it's painfully obvious that it's too good to be true, I haven't seen a case where it's miraculously worked out. I wish you all good luck, though.

I really can't fathom how anyone can sell and ship basses all over the world for less than price of the strings on the bass. There has to be something up with this...

Labor, parts, strings, paint, packaging, shipping...

No.

But I'll be here to see who the fools are. The ones who did? Or the ones who didn't?

:)

Fortunately, I can be out $19.21 for a month.

Ive ordered items not delivered before. If the time expires and you don't receive it, start the case then.

Sometimes a dishonest seller will ask for an extension or say they will ship it again. This is with the goal of going past the window to file a case.

Parts are cheap. Finish is good on the body. Neck is raw wood and unfinished. Assembly quality seems to vary.

I haven't really messed with the damaged one much but I'll post impressions at the link below. Most of my posts (and pics) there relate to my adventures with the Glarry branded fretless version.

The thread below will give you more info. Others there have more experience with them than I do.
