LPB - Black or Tort PG?

I have a PJB in Lake Placid Blue.

Which choice in Pickguard...Black or Tort? Or is there another color you like? And why?

I bought the 4 ply Tort PG for only $10 from MusicLily on Amazon. I had to Dremel out a little around the P-Bass pickups but otherwise it was a perfect fit.

Don't like tort on blues.

Black is best of the two, at least in my opinion. Black pearl would be spectacular. So would white pearl.

Yeah, I agree. With the Rosewood fretboard the tort looks great as a transition of color from the LPB.

I don’t know why but I think tort looks better on blue than anything else.

I voted "other" from the choices. Between black and tort I'd go with black.

But a blue or even a bright red pearl would look great on that blue. Just some ideas. My preference for colors is no secret to anyone.

Personally like the Tort. Ties the whole bass together, IMO.

Had one on my white bass and really liked the look.

I tried to put tort on my LPB P (with maple board), but my wife immediately declared it ugly. Three-ply black/parchment/black has restored marital harmony for now.

I think the tort that you selected for that bass looks great on that bass, and much more upscale than black.

Yeah, my wife likes the black better, but I think the tort works with the Rosewood fretboard more.
