Very nice. A couple of those tunes were on my suggestion list but we never did get to them. 'Feeling Alright' is one that I've been kicking around in my head but am leaning more towards Gladys Knight's version. We stay much more on the beaten path.

The DJ5 and JO5 are both of Lakland's 5 string Jazz-type basses. I've got the Korean Skyline models. My DJ5 has rounds and the JO5 has flats.

The GS410 is just Aguilar's 4x10" box. It sounds nice but it's heavy for a 4x10. I'd love to use just the B15 but I have a feeling it wouldn't make it over the horns. I'm going to give it a shot at rehearsal eventually.

I've used my B15 for some jams and rehearsals with decent results. We don't have any horns and don't play real loud so keep that in mind. OTOH, I've heard Jeff Campbell (Bass Prof at Eastman) use a B15 w/ upright in a big band and it seemed to cut thru.

Anyway, its a weird thing about volume and I've mused about it around here quite a lot and don't have a real answer. But why is it that some guys seem to be able to gig fine with low powered amps and some feel they need 500 watts for a small bar gig.

P.S. Is that a B15 I see right behind the bass player backing Otis?

Pedro: This is our fourth time in there this year. WSC does have covers, oldies bands --not a blues club by any mean--but we've had some good nights in there. You kind of have to bring your own crowd--they do a fish fry on friday nights and some people will hang around for the band afterwards. We've had 100 in there and we've had 15! LOL! stop on in and jump on stage for a tune--other TB'rs welcome to do the same thing!

Add me to the pile you guys. Even though I'm way up by Superior, I have a nephew, who's a drummer in Madison. So I can kill two birds with one stone, by coming down and talking smart with you guys, and visit with the nephew, at the same time. Let me know when the next one happens please!
