Madison Rigs

Hey gang has anyone ever used Madison rigs? I have tried some of their lower line stuff called Steel Sound, and Legion Audio, I thought they were ok for the price , not sure how durabale they were since I was just ttrying them out.
Anyway Madison has always looked good but was unsure,
I am curretly looing to get rid of my Peavey 4X10, and my 18 and was looking at

Are you asking about the cabs or the amplifier head?

Madison cabs are very well made, sound great, and have some very good support on this board. (Hopefully Jauqo IIIX will chime in as he has used their products - phenomenal player and someone you should trust.) They do tend to be heavy cabinets - something to keep in mind.

There have been mixed reviews for the E600 head - I'll defer to others for their opinions.

I have one of the Steel Sound 2x15 cabs that came loaded with Madison Knight 15's. I still have the cab but switched out the Knights with two JBL E140 's. The knights were just too bottom heavy sounding and muffled. The cab has 4 round ports which may have had something to do with it - I have read that the Knights are better suited to a sealed cabinet. The JBL's really gave me a much more full range sound. As far as build goes, I would say that the cab is just average - plastic jacks which I replaced and thin speaker wire which I also replaced with a heavier guage, and lots of glue drip on the inside. I also added casters. After all the mods, it's a pretty decent sounding cab!

I have the old madison 4x12 bass cab and it is awesome.No matter how much power I throw at it handles it all and sounds great.

What Madison/Legion Sound cabinet are you looking at (2x10, 2x12, 1x15, etc.) ?

to be honest I was more looking at the Avatars stuff, but the Madison stuff caught my eye and like Isaid Ihave played some of their low end stuff, but everything I have looked sat havre been 12's

I love my Madison MAB412 cab as well. It was one of the original twelve 412 cabs they made and was used at the NAMM show a few years ago as a demo. I bought it, sold it to downsize and then always regretted selling it. The guy I sold it to wanted to get rid of it, so I traded back for it over three years later. Man, I love this cab. Yes, it's a beast at 115lbs, but it has tilt back casters and a big metal recessed handle on the top so it's not all that hard to move around.

Their current 4x12 bass cabinet, which looks similar, is 6.6 cu ft.

This is on the low side; 6.6 cu ft is a better size for maybe a 3x12.

Their 2x12 bass cabinet is 4.3 cu ft
