Maki's Two Cents (part 5)

I know if you mix salt, ice, and water you can make a warm beer ice cold in like 2 minutes tops.

Throw some ice, water and salt in a cooler and drop in your 6 pack and your drinking in 2-3 minutes instead of the 10+ in just regular ice water or ice by itself.

Obviously works for soda as well just not nearly as fun.

I will need to conduct research. Please send me a cooler full of beer, ice, and some salt. My two cents :)

Here's a fun one for ya.
As you know I am a transsexual woman, as such I get a lot of dumb questions from a lot of very dumb people.
I usually like to have a bit of fun with these folks while educating them as to why they're questions suck.
So that got me thinking what are some good replies (in your opinion) to the following questions?

1: (this one is almost exclusive to naive gay boys that assume all gender variant people are into drag)
“do you do shows?”

2: “have you had the surgery yet?”

3: “what is your real name / what was your name before?”

4: (this isn't a question but just a variation on a dumb comment)
“Oh cool I have a ________ that is gay too!”

Anyways that's just a few off the top of my head, thoughts?

It just means you're a loyal supporter of a local small business. You should be proud (I know that's not easy for you) of boosting your local economy. If they know you that well, ask them to bring in some things for you.

That reminds me of a bar my wife and I used to hang out at while we were dating. Our favorite bartender would start pouring our usual drinks for us as soon as we walked in the door, before we even found a place to sit. I liked that place.

Now that's a good bar. It's almost like that for me at my local bar. Sometimes, I'll pop in before locking my bike up, so that by the time I sit down, I have a cold one ready for me. My two cents :)

I'm probably more of a Cliff Claven character.

. My two cents :)

Only if you show me first. My two cents :)

2: “have you had the surgery yet?”
If I have had the surgery to remove your head out of your butt, then you'd be able to see the answer to your question. My two cents :)

3: “what is your real name / what was your name before?”
Mark Latimour. My two cents :)

4: (this isn't a question but just a variation on a dumb comment)

Cool. Let me check on my gaydar to see if I can locate him/her for you. My two cents :)

Anyways that's just a few off the top of my head, thoughts?

I think the name one is an innocent question. You might need to lighten up on that one. My two cents :)

Would it be worth the money to buy a Douglas Pisces bass, or save for a better '51 P bass knock-off?

Depends on the kind of music you play. I'm not a big fan of P basses, not matter what the year, so I don't hold much credence to this. However, I do own a 5 string SX Jazz bass, and lately, because my Warwick is in the shop, it's been my main bass. It's had an upgrade on pups and I have to say that it really sounds sweet. If you get a good bass from Rondo I think it could serve as a great platform for upgrades if you desire down the line. This might also make your decision for getting an upgrade solidify. The cool thing about ordering basses from Rondo is that they're cheap enough to get just a feeler. My two cents :)

Is it ok to put rum in my coffee before work?

Not if your job puts other people's lives at risk, like if you're a bus driver. I also wouldn't recommend it if you're working with kids. Ultimately, while it sounds like a good idea at the time, you will be crashed out and tired by lunch time. Still, if you'll be drinking on the job later (this was the case for a few places I worked), then I don't see it as a big deal if you're not driving. My two cents :)
