Maki's Two Cents (part 5)

Can I borrow a couple of dollars for gas? My Momma is sick, and I need to get back to Victorville to take her to the doctor, but I'm stuck here becuase I was looking for work in Glendale.

Likely story, here it all along. Why is it the people from Victorville are always coming out here, but getting stuck with no way home. These are the same people that come down to the beach swim out as far as they can, not realizing that they've used all their energy, so they can't swim back. They should walk back, and then learn their lesson, so they don't concern us with their problems. The short answer is pound sand. My two cents :)

Didn't it used to have another "L" in it? o_O

A couple of things amuse me about the "gas money to get back to Victorville" story...

1) A couple of bucks in the tank won't get you to the next gas station, let alone to Victorville.
B) I've been approached by the same person, with the same story, at the same gas station three times over the last couple of months.

I suspect that the liquor store across the street plays a significant part in the story.

Wasn't this an episode of Dragnet?
