Man Vs. Wild = busted

He's said alot of time in interviews. That that he's not allowed to accept any help from them cameramen. He also said that sometimes the cameramen have to leave by helicopter to go charge up the batteries for their cameras.

They have some video interviews on youtube. I personally think the article is a BS.

Survivorman++.

Poor guy. The thing to think about while watching that is some of the wide angle shots, eh had to go setup the camera, do the shot, then go back and get the dang camera!

:eek: Well, that story IS in the New York Post! :rollno: I guess EVERYTHING should be taken with a grain of salt?!?! You don't take everything you read in the National Enquirer as Gospel...Do you???;)

Married + kid(s).

Yep, I read an interview with him where he mentioned his wife and kids, I think he has a daughter or two.

Furthermore, I though his anecdote about the first day of filming was good. He said he knew that, due to the nature of the show, everyone on set would be flexing their muscles and trying looking like macho-men, so he walked in wearing a big, floppy, pink sunhat to break the ice! What a pro! :D

Bear is legit. He's ex-SAS, I'd take it as a given that he could survive. Of course, the show is fake. :rollno:

Bear's done his time as a soldier, and I don't blame him for wanting to make a bit of cash, and if that means a few concessions to "thrill seekers" television that so be it. I'm quite sure if he needed to he could survive on his own, but there is a camera crew to think about, and why does he need the stress of surviving in the wild if they're just going to swan off to cabin every night?

him being a soldier, even SAS means little too me. i highly doubt SAS (or the majority of special operations in the world) train there operators in ever aspect of survival, including quicksand and stuff like that. i'm sure they probably go over it, but i'd be willing to be there is no actual practical exercise on it, meaning i'm sure they don't go jump into quicksand and anything else dangerous and try to get out. And most survival training in militaries is usually more combat survival, meaning escape and resist, etc etc. So i honestly don't think he could survive anywhere. thats just my view, he might be different, but i don't buy it. ex-sas, bah, means nothing to me.

I will, on the other hand, give him props for drinking urin and eating nasty crap. i have a buddy who drank his own pee at ranger school just to see what it tasted like...nasty bastard!
