maple vs. ebony

IMO the difference in tone being minimal i would go for the one that feels best in your hands!

Listen to that, and dont tell me you would hear a difference in a mix!

I've seen that youtube video before and it's a great one! There is a huge difference between the two necks but you have to watch carefully - the rosewood one you have to play with your mouth closed and the maple one requires you to play with your mouth open. I would easily be able to spot that in a mix!:D
 
I've got a maple LB70 and an ebony LB76. The maple works surprisingly well on this bass; it's one of the best sounding basses I own. And I love ebony for fretless, always. An ebony fretless and a maple fretted would be a perfect pair imo.
