I was listening to Erik Truffaz today and I thought.. who is this bassist? Talkbass didn't let me down. He has such a tight tone. I thought he'd have a preamp but it appears to be a small amp on a 4x10. He uses a couple of Fender/Lakeland P'basses. In this pic he has foam before his bridge, is that how he gets that tightness?

I can confirm there was no preamp here, just a small Markbass head through a 4x10 cab.

Arthur played his C&C drum and Meinl cymbals; Benoit played a new key for the 1st time with the 4tet : an old Chroma Rhodes.
