March... in May?

Z4J,
I'm absolutely stoked, it looks fabulous. It's a set neck, I'm not sure about the accent stripes, ebony? wenge maybe, theres also a veneer b/t the top and body in a similar manner....I'd prolly say ebony.....

The top looks amazing when wet, so once the finish is applied, I think it's really going to pop.

Also...look at the neck (up near the nut on the right side of the pic)....you can see from where it was wetted (or scored from carving)....that's what the flame is going to look like.

WICKED!!!!

If that's a set neck, then I'm watching you like a hawk! That's what I asked Jacob to build for me. :D

I love the fingerboard too! I saw the back of the neck, and the flame kind of looks "burnt" like it was scorched with a sander or something. Crazy psychodelic wildness!!

I think the set neck is going to turn out perfect. I was originally going to go with a contrasting transition block (mac eb or wenge), but Jacob said the flame was outstanding, so I didn't want anything to detract from it's tiger striped glory! I picked out this particular fb at Gallery. I was just going to use Jacob's stock, but, Larry and I were looking around and after we found "THE" top he looked over and found this piece of mac ebony, he wetted the top (crotch myrtle) with naptha, and the light colors in the fb were amazingly close to the wetted top. We both just stared in awe of how the grain and color of the top looked like it flowed into the fb......

I am pleased with the way the body turned out...

You and me both. Exactly what I was looking for. Paying hommage to founding singlecut designs...forward looking with some less traditional design elements, yet very captivating..

Thanks for letting me "ripoff" some of your ideas...greatly appreciated!!!

Totally agree....good thing I'm 3000 miles away, or my wife would've been down there trying to break his hands. She'd probably be accusing me of cheating on her with all the money going out the window. I could just see it now..

"Honey I swear, it's a bass....just wait for a few months for the new baby...I mean bass....I'll prove it to you. It's my baby...wait, I mean it's my bass, please don't take the kids, me leave? Can I have that empty storage box to sleep in? You think I could get visitation? Tell the kids to wave on the way to school, I'll be under the overpass..."
