Marching Band

Yea, I play trombone in the Blue Band. Well, not the Penn. State one but a high school one. We do alot of rock and what not, none of this concert band arranged for marching band junk. Just hard hitting loud (still toneful) stuff.

It's weird seeing the steps and everything being off with the music because of the distance.

Why are you guys doing band camp right now? Our's is always at the end of summer, I have a little less than 2 months before band camp.

former High school band geek checking in. Marched cymbals, bass drum and quads. Bassoon in concert band, doubled in jazz, bass in orchestra. Was pretty much my hangout in school.

Funny, afterwards I heard about 'band camp', you know, the movie, and I wondered what that was about. We never had 'band camp' when I was going through. Well, we took a weekend during late summer to prep for the year, but it certainly wasn't camp.

We aren't in "real" band camp right now, we do 1 day a week up until real band camp at the end of July.

CSU-Pueblo is starting up a marching band for the first time in twenty years this year. They're even teaching and taking in students who have no prior experience in marching band. Which would include me on the drumline. Camp starts Wednesday. Goodbye talkbass, I'm going to go have some fun beating drums.

Lol I played electric through the PA in marching band...It was awesome didn't have to march at all, and my buddy Louie played with a full kit on the sidelines with me cause we didn't have enough drummers, we did some Cream, Queen, Simon and Garfunkle...it was good times

Also played Jazz and concert, Jazz was great but concert was boring as heck especially when I had to play the DB ,un-miced (couldn't even hear myself), couldn't take it home to practice (the one time I did it put a hole in dash of my car with the sharp end of its mismatched tuning head and then my brother stepped on and broke the G string)...ugh that POS plywood DB turned me off to acoustic forever.
