As I understand it, you've had the amp for less than 60 days, which means you can exchange it for free.
You will be able to do this without going to the store--but best to make this arrangement directly with the store manager, Roberto Hernandez (I met him last week!).
When you speak with Roberto, make sure to check that they have Little Mark IIs in stock, and if they don't, find out when they will.
If you've had the amp for more than 60 days, follow the instructions in your performance guarantee and the amp will be fixed for free.
I hope you can get this sorted out ASAP.

Thanks Peter. I don't think I got a performance guarantee. I got the manual and the warranty card from markbass in the box, But nothing else, so I really don't know what to do for that...I call the guitar center again today maybe, and try to talk to the manager.

The actual Performance Guarantee comes in the mail, so maybe you haven't received it yet.

Man,

I've been trying to deal with this..the guys at guitar center are just confused. They don't know what to do, they want me to bring it in and maybe they will have another one I can have. Then the guy tells me to call the performance guarantee hotline and the guy there tells me nothing, other than to call the guitar center back, oh and the only info on markbass he could give me was the website. Then i call the guitar center back, and a different fellow tells me I don't have a performance guarantee. Then finally he says he'll call me back later, and they will figure something out. bleh. It will all work out, but I don't think I want to deal with GC anymore. At least your here Peter.

Believe it or not, the line is new enough in GC, and the situation with Markbass is unique enough (compared to other amp brands they carry and the warantee structures for them) that these are still new situations. Hence the confusion...

Not trying bust yer *all* or anything, just looks like there could be a couple fan issues. This is still probably w/in the rate you quoted. Seems more happy customers in the thread I posted than problems with fan noise.:)

I think this easily falls within the quoted rate. Lots of happy campers on that thread. I'm still interested in trying one.

I think you're spot on about this being a new situation with the automatic performance guarantee and the 60-day (is that right?) period.

The store has told me they called you personally last week and you're the only one who can tell me when it will arrive, they are waiting on you to give them the info so they can give me a date. I thought since you were asking if we needed anything I'd just go direct for my answer. I hate this pass the buck game.

I know I say this all the time but I am soooooo glad we have Dave Freeman of Club Bass up here after reading these GC stories. I own an LM2 and an iAMP800. Here's an old post of a comparison I did.

have compared my iAMP and LM2 directly. I have two cxl112 cabs. I plugged the iAMP into one and the LM2 into the other. This comparison was done in my apartment-not in a band setting (but I have used both in the same band setting before). My wife, who is a classically trained tuba player, assisted me. I used a Sadowsky Metro 5 and a fretless five string F bass.
I set both heads flat and set the volumes so they were the same level to my ears. (the LM2 gets loud as soon as you turn the volume knob, the iAMP has a more even taper). I turned my back to the speakers and had my wife plug me into one of the heads. I played for a few minutes through the head and wrote down my impressions. I then had her switch (actually we did this four times and I told her she didn't necessarily have to switch each time-just trying to eliminate any prejudices and make sure I'm really hearing what I'm hearing) to the other head. We did this four times. I played basically the same material each time: walking bass, eight notes, harmonics, slap and some finger funk.
I then engaged the second contour on the iAMP and repeated the test. After this I had my wife turn her back to the speakers and we repeated the test with me switching between the heads and I had her write down her opinions on the sound.
Bottom line: both heads sounded great. I found the LM2 had a little warmer sound than the iAMP (especially before the contour was engaged) and slap sounded a little sweeter. The differences were very minor however. I couldn't decide which I liked best between the two, but my wife prefered the LM2 because of the difference in the slap sound. (I engaged the first contour on the iAMP and played some slap for her just to be sure but she still liked the LM2)
You really can't go wrong with either of these heads. On gigs I've found the iAMP has a little more kick in the low end at very high volumes, but it also has 300 more watts of headroom. The LM2 won't do a two ohm load- the iAMP will. The iAMP weighs three times as much as the LM2 in it's rack bag, but neither are heavy.
I would recommend trying the LM2 through speakers other than MarkBass. Although the MB speakers in no way sound bad, I didn't like the sound I got with them. EAs or Bergies will definately let the LM2 shine.
Hopefully this helps, although it is all highly subjective

I am rather fond of EA amps and as mentioned, their customer service is second to none hands down. I have money on a micro bass 300 head which should be available around the end of March. For my small portable rig I'll be pairing it up to my AccuGroove Tri 110 cab (29lb.)

Ok, I just got off the phone with GC San Francisco.
The reason they called me is because Little Mark IIs are in short supply at the moment in the US and they were wondering when more were arriving from Italy.
There's a shipment coming in any day now, so they should have an amp for you soon. John Wilson is not in the store today but he will call you tomorrow--if you want to speak with someone today, you could call the store manger, Roberto Hernandez.
I'm sorry for this delay, and hope you have your amp ASAP.

What is the height of the Markbass LMKII? Didn't see it listed on the specs on their website.

I'd love to have an amp that fit into the saddlebag-type pouch on my gig bag, but the new Eden and EA head aren't powerful enough (I need to run an 8ohm cab, and both of those are rated at about 300w at 4ohms...I don't even know what their wattage is at 8ohms).
