Markbass Compressore dead?

Hi guys,

I've had this old MB Compressore sitting in my drawer for the last 8 or so years, lost the original power supply so got a new 12v 600mA from eBay and went to fire it up, and....absolutely nothing!

Tried the footswitch, nada. Tried a few different power sockets just in case it was hating the powerboard, still nothing. The power supply was fairly warm

Admittedly it's been sitting for a very long time, but any ideas what could be the issue? Dead tube? Dodgy power supply, or something else? I have noticed the power adaptor does not sit fully flush too, so I wonder whether I've got a dud power supply.

Welcome your thoughts!

I don't know the Compressore and the manual doesn't give me much clue, but my first hunch is that the polarity of the wall wart is incorrect. According to this post:
Powering Markbass Compressore

The MB Compressore needs center negative. You have a center positive. Please check if that's the case, does your MB have power requirements on the back?

That is very helpful! Markbass have been very lackluster to deal with, ideally I'd have just ordered a new supply from them, but their customer service is non-existent...

The challenge is trying to find a third party power supply that can deliver 600mA with negative polarity with an AUS plug...

I've had the problem with another pedal, and what I did was swap the polarity within the plug - if you can open it. Seems like you can't, but in my case it was just switching the leads internally, instant center negative.

Good luck on your search!
