An excellent combo amp! Great choice and super price if you got the $749 Clearance price. I believe the CMD121P is Markbasse's most popular combo amp. Add a 121P cab if you ever need more and be amazed!
500watt 2x12" stack.
So, circling back.
The amp sounds amazing ….but, now that we’ve moved back into the house there’s an issue.
I’m getting a terrible buzzing from
the tweeter that seems to be caused by the LED lighting in the house. Rewriting and replacing all the wiring and lighting isn’t an option, and while a noise gate pedal mutes it, it’s annoying to have to use one.
Considering trading the combo for a head/cab setup since it seems all the cabs have a switch to silence the tweeter like my Fender Rumble used to have.
Thoughts? Alternative ideas?

Actually no. It’s only with a guitar connected. It sounds like a grounding issue, but I’ve insulated all the guitars, and it also didn’t have the buzz when I took the amp to a different location and tested it. It goes away when I roll off all the highs, and it is definitely coming from the tweeter, not the subs.I experienced a buzzing recently with my MB
I experienced a worrying buzzing noise recently on my MB MkIV combo at a gig but it turned out it was a bad lead. I assume it’s making the noise without anything connected?

I’ll try the old school knob. I’ve not really liked the tone of it, but maybe I can compensate for it with other eq tweaks. I’ve actually tried it with all 8 of my basses and the buzz is present with all of them, though noticeably less with my MM Bongo.dial the 'old school' control, it cuts the heighs while boosting the mids before the cut (like a passive tone).
or use another bass, more prone to RF noise. (shielding will help if you haven't already done it, but sometimes it's the pickups and that's it.)

It’s the lack of an off switch for the tweeter that’s kind of bugging me with this, especially since every other amp seems to have it except for this one combo. I also may be looking for an excuse to trade up, but not 100% if I can figure it out with the combo.
reduce the high mids a bit (and maybe up treble a bit) and you're good.
my quietest bass is a Thumb BO with active pickups (they do really excel if RF rejection).
if your Bongo is not properly shielded, there's a chance, you can improve it even more.
there's nothing wrong with a separates setup, so I'd do it if it's financially reasonable.
in fact, I do own a separate one: an LM IV and two 102 Energy cabs.
This is actually pretty close to the setup I was considering. How do you feel about that head vs. the tube 800?experienced a worrying buzzing noise recently on my MB MkIV combo at a gig but it turned out it was a bad lead. I assume it’s making the noise without anything connected?
Ha. The Bongo is such a good bass that most of my others are just wall candy at this point.my quietest bass is a Thumb BO with active pickups (they do really excel if RF rejection).
