Hey John. Let us know how the GK stacks up against the MarkBass!OP, my LMII from 2009 just died too. It eventually comes up to full volume but takes a while. I started a thread here a couple of weeks ago to see if anyone else had the same issue. It doesnt seem to be an isolated issue. Ive had mine for 12 years and put hundreds of gigs and practices on it, so I cant complain too much, but next weekend kicks off a full schedule of gigs this fall so i needed something quick. Guitar Center has LMIII's for $499 but I wanted to go in a different direction so I ordered a GK Legacy 500. I hate the idea of just throwing my LMII away so eventually i might see if i could get it fixed but not for a while.
Will do! Should be here in the next couple of days.Hey John. Let us know how the GK stacks up against the MarkBass!
Yes and you helped with my decision to get the NANO!! Thanks again...I too have a NANO. I love the thing!
My pleasure! EnjoyYes and you helped with my decision to get the NANO!! Thanks again...
The 800RB is small and light compared to your SVT.Oh yeah i was originally going to buy an old 800rb, but I really like having something that is small and light for those times I dont want to lug my SVT...
No idea where you're located - but Geoff (Amps & More) is semi-retiredbut is an authorized MB 'servicer'… I've had a few of my MB products to him! He would, also, be willing to discuss to see if he might troubleshoot, etc
amps and more
John do you have MB cabs? Will do! Should be here in the next couple of days.
I dont. I have two Ampeg 210AVs. As I said, I do have an SVT but it needs 4 ohms and these are 8 ohms each so when I use that amp, besides it being heavy, i have to use both cabs. I have a gig on Friday that is a pretty tight area and I was looking forward to taking my LMII and one cab...now I plan on using the GK (if I get it in time)John do you have MB cabs?
My LM3 had a ton of use. I thought it would never give up the ghost. There seem to have been several 10+ year old LM2 / LM3 going south with this fault recently. I'm hoping it's because they've all been used heavily during this time and not a particular component failing simply through age. I've got several Markbass heads all of a similar vintage that I gig in rotation to hopefully get the most from them but I'm getting a little nervous now. /-:
I can tell you that my LMIII saw a ton of gigs over the ten years I had it...It payed itself off and then some...I'm extremely happy with my NANO at the moment but im always keeping my eyes on the lookout for a older LMII or LMIII that's in good shape...There seem to have been several 10+ year old LM2 / LM3 going south with this fault recently. Slight derail to the OP but, I got the GK in today and totally forgot that its Speakon Connectors (or the GK connector) only! I remember reading that and it went straight out of my mind. So, Im going to have to run to Guitar Center to either pick up a couple Speakons or maybe Speakon to 1/4" adapters. Ughh. My own fault but wish the GK had both like my LMII.Hey John.
