Only other modular amp that I can think of was a short lived series of guitar amps with module from Seymore Duncan

I went with the two input channels, two channels of para EQ, and footswitchable 2-channel output, with the 500W analog power. I think that would suit me fine. Although they have that head already, don't they? I've lost track of the model variations they have.

My one complaint (because I always have to find something to complain about) is that the preamp input stage variety is not really much variety at all. There's like two basic preamps (tube and ss) with four tiny variations on each. If you're going to offer modules, offer a real variety of voicings!

Where's the tube power amp? ;)

Love the concept, would probably be more into it if I didn't own an LMII already. I'm not getting another solid state amp until they can fit in your pocket.

+1 You can get most of what the MoMark offers in their existing line of heads. As I've posted before, my guess would be that the MoMark would eventually replace their 'fixed' models if the concept is accepted by the bass community.

This would also be an amazing thing for the retailers, who could have every Markbass product in one rack for their customers to try, only ordering the products after the customer decides what he/she wants. Very slick.

I guess the plug in thing is cool also if you are a real gear geek (i.e., use the tube pre for some gigs and the ss for others.).

I personally have no interest in this product, since I love a couple of their standard units. However, that doesn't mean I don't think it's cool as heck!

Interesting that the lower powered Class D module is 600 watts now (not the 500 of the F1 and F500). I guess they are using a different class D power amp in the MoMark than in the F1 and F500, since they have more room in that case. I guess that can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the tone.

I assume the class A/B 500 watt module and the 800 watt class D module are identical to the new LM amps (just guessing).

Interesting stuff!
