Markbass' MoMark site is up

I love the NY604. It's small, powerfull and really fullrange.
When I play really loud there is a little boost on the mids (more harmonics ~500Hz) due to the speaker size. You can correct it easily with the VPF if you don't want those mids.
For small clubs it's absolutly perfect.

In fact I was really impressed by the complementarity with other cabs. When I added this NY604 to my traveler, I was shocked because the lows became much more deep and sharp compared to the 15' which is really deep and sharp enought!:smug:
The same frequencies are produced by two different ways and the result is rich!

I think the 12" has the same range of frequencies but the two cabs will have a different interpretation. The 12" will be more dub and the 604, more hifi.

Now they need to add some Mark Studio technology to the site to let you hear what your configured amp can sound like. Have some raw and processed clips to let you hear the difference.

Do you think GC will stock all the modules to allow you to mix and match in the store. Take it home for a month, return and try another module if it doesn't work out.

Hallo Jackman,

How much did you pay for this config? Which "power frame" do you have with it?

The Momark site could even be better (sound samples etc.), but perhaps it's right on the way yet..

but what I really like a lot is that cool photo of Marco
de Virgilis at the end of the video clip! Just booom-bass-tic! So funny: :D :D :D ...

I'm not quite sure how you could do sound samples, since the room, the cabs, the bass, would all have significant impact on the tone. Too many variables. It's one thing to plug a bass into a reasonable transparent pre and direct record. It's a total other thing to capture the 'general tone' of an amp head, since you can't hold anything constant.

I think it's worth a try. They can give a pretty good example of what the amp can sound like. Room emulation can be added with reverbs.

I see you can also order one without any EQ at all. This is going to just what some people want.

would be pretty cool to get one of these. i did the analog w/ the tube preamp and no controls but gain and volume. just me baby! nowhere to hide.

i can see how the no EQ may be frustrating if you're playing in a weird room though, but if you've got an active bass you could just use your on board controls

Neat idea, but I'm completely happy with my SA-450. This seems like a product aimed at the bassists who are endless searchers. It seems like a novelty, to me. I have no need for the switchable modules. Cool site, though.

I'd be interested in seeing a detailed view of how a module's connection to the chassis is made.

Everyone who got a Swag Bag is no longer my friend. :bawl:
Just wanted to let you know that even though I let it go for a day, I got it. And it was so funny that I nearly had a brain hemorrhage from not laughing so much. Now if Markbass had a contest where you have to prove myself worthy to them, and then was informed that you aren't, then in the same email you get a sales pitch and a lame coupon for a free footswitch if you buy something from them, you would have a point. As it stands, though, it was just a lame attempt at humor at my expense over a totally unrelated thing. You must learn how to keep your comedy pure.

Wow. Don't be a child.

EDIT: Or derail the thread. If you're going to get all insecure and weird, shoot the guy a PM or something.

How about you tell the guy who brought it up in the first place in this thread instead of me? I was minding my own business and the dude took a shot at me, to which I responded. Same with you.

Don't want to get me going, don't get me going. Simple as that, dude.
