Hi all! I've just found out with some surprise that Mark Bass is gonna present some basses at NAMM 2019. I'm pretty curious and I'll be on the fence. They make really good amps, lets see what they can do with basses. One bass is the Richard Bona Kilimanjaro (kimandu). {} The other one is a 70s style jazz bass called Gold. {}
True and original Italian manufacture! By the way the gold one looks really nice and there aren't many 70s j basses around there.
I don’t know if I love or hate the look of the Kilimanjaro ... but they’ve got my attention, and I suppose that’s the point! Interested to see the in-store availability of these to try one.
I've no idea. I guess well know more at namm 2019. Reading in the mark bass page you'll see that this bass will use an onboard mark bass pre. The same pre is gonna be sold as an onboard pre to put in your custom build. The Kimandu should be the less expensive version of the Kilimanjaro. {}
I'm glad the Kilimanjaro has adjustable bridge spacing, but for some reason, no GAS here. I'm thinking it would have been a smart move to have the option on all their basses.
Not feeling the preamp layout. VVT? Prefer a balance knob for the pickups. I like the body shape though. I wonder what the price points are?
We can’t just glaze past that little point. I for one would never be able to reach the tone control...
