What would the parallel be? Just curious. I guess one could ponder the female anatomy while turning a knob but that seems like a stretch.
It didn't bother me in the least. It's kind of amazing what will trigger some folks. Nothing new about that.

what do they call those types... snow bunny? snowman? One of those new terms, I forget. I guess they've always been around since the time of the Romans and before.
My first take on the styling in the OP was...
the upper horn has that distinct "Fred Flintone's hair in profile" shape as Zon Legacy models which has always been fairly unique.
The concave bottom was a Legacy thing too... for decades.
The lower horn seems like a shortened version of the Todd Johnson model's. *Insert whatever genitalia joke here*
So yeah, it immediately brought Zon to mind for me. I wasn't initially blown away by the looks of my 1997 Legacy Standard fretless 5 but it was a familiar case of a bass eventually looking "better" because it blew me away with playability and tone and I grew to love the look. No opinion on that for the MB basses for obvious reasons. If they turn out to be players, cool. If they don't, cool.

You're reaching a bit there, mind. I don't really like the look of the new bass but the faux outrage over some naff marketing is a bit much.
I didn't see any outrage, but I do find that particular bit of marketing cheesy to say the least (personal opinion of course).

Oh that... It’s just like signal noise. Annoying at first but you can’t avoid it. And you’ve better ignore it than waste time trying to find an inexistant cure.
Based on the advertisements, I'm underwhelmed. There doesn't appear to be anything new or innovative; these seem to be just slightly modified versions of the million+ similar basses already flooding the market. Of course, maybe my perspective would change if they happen to play and/or sound really good....
I just checked out the Gold jazz bass.
As soon as I put it on, the headstock raced toward the floor. They probably should have put a suede-backed strap on it for demos.
It sounded pretty good, but that severe neck dive made me put it down pretty quick.
