married guys i need your help

I guess what i'm trying to say is for instance;
My ex-wife(no, it wasn't from hiding equiptment) just did not understand why I would need a $1200 Stingray. She about "flipped her lid" when I finally convinced her I needed a $315 MIM J bass and a $240 Peavey Basic 112:scowl: I never lived it down. That's probably why right after the divorce I went out and bought my 'dream' Stingray.

In that marriage, it was easier to embellish the truth sometimes just to keep the peace. And no, we weren't that hardup on $$$$.

I made sure that my current fiancee' understands my love affair with bass and equiptment. She bought me a Lakland JO:bassist: As long as we're not hurting financially, it's ok with her.

I know a lot of guys in bands who fail to mention they picked up a new piece of gear, so I guess it's just hard to imagine that everyone here is so good, pure, and wholesome:confused:

I haven't read any posts were any individual is claiming to be pure or wholesome. Maybe there are alot of people here that only want to try marriage once. When you feel compelled to lie about purchases, you are setting yourself up for trouble. The truth always comes out in the end.
I know alot of people that have hidden purchases from their wifes/husbands. They play this vicious childish game of hiding things. Usually when one is doing it, so is the other. This is usually the tip of the iceberg so to speak. When people behave like this, you can bet that there are other issues as well.
In the begining me and my wife agreed that we would discuss large purchases. I also established who I was in the begining so that there was no mystery or misconceptions. She knew I liked to purchase nice bass gear and that playing music was part of who I was.
I don't think anything fruitful comes from lying to one another. At least for us, it dosn't have a place.
