massachusetts bassists club

I've [DEL]bean[/DEL] been here since 2008, active musically (American Echoes) since 2010. I live in Union Sq (Somerville), though I spent a few years in the South End.

Now, off to read the thread ...

... Thread read ... now, since we're posting area shows:

Jan2: Middle East (Upstairs), Cambridge
Feb22: O'Brien's, Allston

Here's to perhaps meeting some of you out there!

Hello Folks
Just a quick heads up...I have been talking to AJ Brown and we are having a GTG in Northern RI on Sunday Sept 21.
More detail to come...

I'd love to attend that, time permitting... if welcome and haven't ruffled too many feathers here with my particular brand of nonsense.... ;)
No feathers here...Come on down.

Born and raised in jersey, wound up going to WPI in wormtown for college and decided to stay in the area. Lived in worcester until 10 years ago and moved to marlborough. Got married 4 years ago and bought a house in Stow. Glad I bought when I did, prices are getting stupid high around here, mass exodus of old people because of property taxes.

What are these get togethers like? Food, drink, drool over gear, tell gig lies? If so, might have to check it out.

Hey 2.6
To Answer your questions, yes, yes, yes, &......yes. It a great way to try stuff that you would not have access to unless your were at at NAMM, ect....In a condensed cooler environment.
Come on down and check out the facebook posting as well.

Did you take EE at WPI? Saw a few of your posts in amps that I thought were rather well done. That would explain some of that.

Yup, all of that plus Tony's coffee will require a double dose of BP meds. I have always had an enjoyable time and it's nice to put some faces with the names. Very friendly group. You'd like it.

Majored in ME actually, wound up working in software QA, go figure! Waltham isn't too far from where I live, welcome to Taxachusetts!

Thanks! I've spent the last three years commuting to the Cape for work (at her parents' motel no less) so it hasn't been ALL at once.

Thor: I've been alright! I graduated from URI with a degree in Jazz Studies, so I studied upright under Zinno for four years. My band just released our second album and we're tying up loose ends to get a vinyl release, we just got a second round of test pressings to QC. I've been assistant engineering with Graham Mellor who does production for Fete and Waterfire, he actually engineered the Troop album and I'm learning a lot in the few sessions I've worked on. I'm trying to search for more local employment in the area and just trying to find people to play with or recording projects that interest me. Good to hear from you!
