Master Effects Owners Society

I wanna give a huge shout out to Tim.

So as not to get into a lengthy explanation…….
His pedals rule!
He did me a huge, and I mean huge solid having to do with the Super40.

He went above and beyond in the area of customer service.
Not to mention my Super40 just rocks.

Anyone ever on the fence on any of his products.
Rest assured, they are awesome.

I picked up a used Super 72, partly because it was cheaper and partly because it was within the US, so no tariffs. Really having fun with it. Not sure it would be the end-all for preamp usage for me in the band over my Super 800, especially with two guitarists in the band. However, my thoughts were for a little different use case. In front of my Damnation Audio MBD dirt pedal, I have an EHX Steel Leather, to add some extra punch and clarity. I'm playing with it in the Steel Leather's place, since the SF72 is punchy as hell. It seems to get a similar effect, but with added EQ. At the band's practice space, I use a B-15, so my Super 800 doesn't get used. Curious how the SF72 will be running into the MBD then the B-15. I'll try that next week at practice.

Are you using it for your bridge pickup?
What do you use for your neck pickup?

For the bridge pickup, I use an EBS compressor, Tech 21 VT Bass, ME Super FORTY, and a Keely Bassist compressor.

For the neck pickup, I use a Darkglass B7K Ultra with just a bit of overdrive.

Then I mix and send the result to amp/IEM/FOH. There's also a noise gate after the mixer, fwiw.

On my pedalboard (Temple Audio TRIO 43), the top row is the neck pickup, the bottom row is the bridge pickup.

VT Bass into a super 40... how do you control that? do you use the drive in VT? I haven't managed to work with two so distinct pre-amps chained together in the past. I settled on a transmission going into a Super 300 (that replaced a VT Bass) but took me a while to dial a good tone

I don't use the drive in the VT at all, just tone shaping. You can see in the pic that the drive on the VT is all the way counter clockwise. The "character" of the overdrive comes from the Super 40. For stage support, I run this pedalboard into an Ampeg V4B and Ampeg SVT-212AV cab.

It took a long while to come up with this sequence of pedals and settings to get Geddy's Exit, Stage Left tone. I tried a lot of other pedals and combinations, including an SC-40. In fact, I have 4 SC-40s, but I use the Super 40. This combo works for me and the Super 40 is critical.

Did you ever try Tech 21's Geddy YYZ pedal?
