Well hell, and here I am having just finished up my 2 SC-40 rack with some SC-50s, guess I can always add another for the board when not using the preamp rig. Is this based on the Blue or Black version?

You are a true Ashly nerd.... cheers!Well hell, and here I am having just finished up my 2 SC-40 rack with some SC-50s, guess I can always add another for the board when not using the preamp rig. Is this based on the Blue or Black version?
not sure if it's blue or black. it's based off the 9/12/79 schematic.Well hell, and here I am having just finished up my 2 SC-40 rack with some SC-50s, guess I can always add another for the board when not using the preamp rig. Is this based on the Blue or Black version?
Cool, I believe that's the Blue face then, that's the same schematic Ashly sent me when I was working on mine. The earlier versions have the matched metal can LM394s, where as the black face had a DBX2150 for the VCA I believe (with some early black units carrying over the blue face circuit). I really love mine, works a trick, just working on getting the 2nd one up an running. Here the first is with the two SC-40s, one from @JJR58 (who now has the ME Super Forty) which I added the diode mod to on a switch on the front panel. Very glad to see someone provide some modern iterations, these old Ashlys really are fantastic.not sure if it's blue or black. it's based off the 9/12/79 schematic.
The SC-50 didn’t have true bypass, the on/off turns off the compression but the signal still passes through the gain stage and colors the tone (which I like) when it's in the off position, will your pedal have true bypass?not sure if it's blue or black. it's based off the 9/12/79 schematic.
Sure will! The SC-50 didn’t have true bypass, the on/off turns off the compression but the signal still passes through the gain stage and colors the tone (which I like) when it's in the off position, will your pedal have true bypass?
Yes. Thank you again for that, and of course Tim for doing it. It’s my always on pedal. Even my comp gets turned off now and then, but if I’m playing, my Super 800+ is on!Just need to say that still one of the best gear decisions I ever made was reaching out to Tim to build the GK 800RB preamp that's now the Super 800. I just wish every house amp had an FX loop.
Fantastic! Want a number?Just dropping this here to emphasize how amazingly well my new S800 plays with my SushiFX pedals, particularly this Elementary (inspired by the HiWatt DR103). The combination is really special......got me so excited that I now have a super 40 on the way as well.
Thanks much. I'll be around but no need for a numberFantastic! Want a number?

Very cool, Tim! Can you tell us more about the Low Cut, Mid Contour, and High Boost switches? Thanks! So I updated the super 800 plus….
