What a buzzy, clanky piece of junk, besides having no idea what a bass is supposed to do. Yeah, go ahead and play guitar chords on it. He can do it because his instrument has no bass response. You can't do it on instruments with a decent bass response because the sound will turn to mud. It's physics, man. It's a basic guideline of music arranging that you can't use closed chord forms in lower registers. It doesn't matter if we are talking bass, piano, low brass, whatever. Mud.
Inventor of the guitar-scaled bass, eh? I have a '60-70's Teisco/Kent 25-1/4 scale bass, built 40-some years before this dofus and his revolutionary invention. It's not the greatest of quality, but after putting a little setup work into it, including moving the bridge back 1/2 inch, it plays well, handles well, and intonates well for having basically a solid bar for a bridge.
