Nice! This is probably the only Pbass I would consider buying (they just arent 'my thing') mostly because I'm a Rancid fan. I should have jumped on the black one when they came out.

Found this one for the original price and it’s literally mint, there’s one small ding on the back and that’s it. Look around, I love this thing. I guess it’s based off Matt’s 78(?) p bass, I like 70s p’s. I’m not a fender expert but I guess they are very hit or miss

I never knew they came in any other colour than white. Is the nut width 1 3/4” or 1 5/8” ?.

Incredibly smooth and comfy neck (if you like gloss). Sweet aggressive stock tone (even though I changed out for Geezers).

This is my only bass since 2013 and I'm in love with it and with its tone. I like it very much and it suits my playing and my music style (rock and punk). But for a long time I have wanted to try other pickups (I want to try the Dimarzios Model P, as some of my favourite players use it) in case it may still sound better, but I have never done it because many people say that the stock pickups are quite difficult to improve. Are you happy with the change?

Tbh i upgraded just for something to do, rather than any real need. The tone before was fine.

I say if you're happy with the tone, go ahead and change but make sure you save the stock pickups. At best youd get $40 for them so not really worth selling anyways.

Then if you do wanna go back you can. Sell the Model Ps and it's cost you what like $20-30 loss? On a fun project and the realization that these things are sick stock anyways.

I’ve owned a number of PBs over the years. My Matt Freeman is my goto and all time favorite PB bar none. The neck on those is to die for.

I’ve since done a few changes. But I kept the original pickguard, harness and pickups intact if I ever decide to switch it back to its original configuration. All that would need to be reconnected are the ground leads.

Because of this thread, I listened to Rancid while doing some housework and now I want to dust off (quite literally) my Squier Pbass project. Sure, it's an Affinity and not a MF, but my Jazz bass doesnt have the right sound.
Not a bad bass for $10, and I have stock MIM hardware from the Jazz for parts.

Nice bass, congrats! I bought mine a bit more heavily modded, but with all original parts so can swap back & forth easily enough. Very high quality basses, Squier really went all out on these.

I’m curious about the significance of the build. Certain neck profile? Special fretwork? What are the features that set it apart from the others in P-bass world?

Other than the signature, nothing sets it apart from another CV. Unless of course you own one...then this bass morphs into “10x better than any American bass I’ve ever ‘played’ “

You cant get the covers from what I have seen. I have a second set not being used if you want to PM me.
