Awesome! For many years I thought I liked the MM sound, but its really the G&L sound that I needed! Do you have any recording with that beast?
I have one recording, but be warned - it's a DIY-recorded hardcore punk EP, and the bass is run through an IdiotBox Effects Blower Box (Rat clone).. so you might not hear much of the bass itself haha. This was almost certainly all recorded with the pickup in parallel, and theres some clean DI tracks in there somewhere. What's In The Jar is probably best for hearing the bass, beware the loud vocals.
...this one not really a steal though. Buyer def knows what they have in hand.

I've heard from many here and on the G&L site that they are really nice instruments but a previous question was not answered. Seems like a number of owners are replacing the pups. Totally cool to buy a signature bass because of the color, you like the player, etc. But if it it's not pups, neck contour, body or neck materials, fret size, mojo, finish, color, craftsmanship, etc. What makes it much better than other off the shelf Fenders at the same price point?

Buy something thats off-the-shelf and change it
I bought a Squier Troy Sanders Sig Jag bass and put a babicz bridge on it.
Its the only bass in the Squier lineup in silver burst and block inlay.
Nothing wrong with the bass stock though.
Ok, I cant argue with upgrading a Squier bridge....
It's different than changing out the pickups.
I mean...it is a signature model, but has nothing particularly interesting in the electronics department. What I mean, is that, the bass is modeled after Matts 70's stock p bass. If it had some special circuitry or pickups particular to the artist, changing it would defeat the purpose...but in this case, they're just cheap p bass pickups and wiring.
I changed the pickup to a Curtis Novak 70's wind (whatever that means), and it definitely opened up the sound so good. Changing pots and jack was just a personal choice.
That being said..stock pup was not half bad.

How are those pickups ? This white one I like more than my black one, but I kinda wanna do a pickup swap
They are Hot. I love them in the MF. But to be honest the original pickups are good. The dimarzio just have that punk sound I was going for.
I played QP back in the 90's. They were good, but I think I like the dimarzio better. I said they have a punk sound, but I actually use this bass at church just as much playing modern christian music. I really like them. I had 2 set up with them but I changed one to Aguilar Ag 4p60 just to have a different sound, but that bass now has flat wounds as well. I did have the MF with the dimarzio's and flat wounds for a bit too, but really liked the dimarizo with SS strings or NW strings.
