Matt Freeman Squier Sig!!!!!

Does wanting to spend an extra $300 for a different logo on this bass make you a terrible person?

If you really need to have a Fender like the MF sig, there's always the Roger Waters version.

Yeah totally. I don't have an extra $300 to pay just for a logo :D

The Roger Waters one only comes in black I believe, which is nice, but my heart is set on the cream one...

Well, I went for it and ordered one. Very impressed! It's even better than I thought it would be.

Damn you. I really didn't need to see that lovely White bass.
I was all set on getting the black one, my perfect colour combo, but that White and maple has sold me.
Do you know if the White is the same as the White used on the CV jazz? That White is my ideal shade as I've had creamy ones before and didn't really like them.

its creamier than the CV J.

As far as logos go - I have never once noticed the bodies shaking on the dance floor squinting to see what brand of bass I was using to rock their world.... :) Like the CVs, if you can't rock the house with one of these....the problem isn't the bass :)

Fantastic!! Any sound clips? How's the neck, pickups, setup, etc.

Haven't managed to get any soundclips yet, I'm aiming to do that this weekend. Setup was perfect straight from the box, nice low action, no truss rod adjustment needed. I half expected the pickups to be inferior, perhaps disappointing, but there was none of that. They give a lovely full tone.

The second picture is probably closer to the actual colour, it's very creamy. Beautiful.

Thanks guys for the colour info. I might have to check it out first.
I felt my old Fender P5 was a bit too creamy, sounds like this might be similar, although with the maple neck it looks much nicer.

I agree about the logo. I've had 5 Laklands, a few MIA Fenders as well as a few other brands over the last 7 years and I dont feel the CV's are any less of a bass, just a hell of a lot cheaper.
I do find my CV Jazz to sound a bit too warm, especially compared most of the other jazz basses I've owned, but much nicer than my Lakland DJ5.

I just saw one of these in my local shop. I have to say I was very impressed. I didn't know who Matt Freeman was I just pulled it down based on the look of the aged maple finish.

The neck was much better than the MIM P that was sitting next to it in my opinion. Fret work was very good. I found no dead spots on the neck. I really did feel great.

Look and feel were great. Tone was very good. Very true P tone. The tone control was fully functional and gave a nice range when rolled from high to low. I thought the output was a bit weak, but it was all around a very nice bass. I may have to pick one up so I have the obligatory P bass in the 'family' :-)

Lol well for a punk fan like me,this is as exciting as the time pete wentz got his signature like 5 years ago. I think its great and will be a top seller even if people have never heard of Rancid or Op ivy, just like the geddy lee was supposed to be a limited run, but the popularity of the bass and not geddy, has made it one of fenders best selling models.

I'm sure it'll be along the line of 300 usd

I think Geddy's popularity has more to do with it than you may be giving credit.
I love mine, but would never buy it at its current price, regardless of the name on the headstock.
At the time, however, I bought it pretty much on sight because it was a Geddy Lee Sig. Just turned out that I liked the way it played too.
