Me and My SVT just got Shutdown

Filled in for a bass player on vacation at a church near my home and before Mass the priest came up into the music loft and said to me, "YOU WILL TURN THAT BASS DOWN!" as he pointed his finger right into my face.............I had my little Fender Rumble 100 turned down so low I could barely hear it.
I will never fill in for that group EVER again..........

Bummer. The music director at the church I play keeps asking me to bring in my Heritage 810! :bassist: Apparently my 410 HLF isn't enough for him?

I would have left right there and then.

If I'm a sub and ANYONE does that to me, I leave. I don't need the money bad enough to take that crap.

Where's the "be kind to your fellow man" part?
Do unto others.....

I would have had a hard time not breaking his finger.

Grab a 1x12 cab. Be respectful. Appreciate the work.

I had plenty of bass rigs to play there.

2- EA CXl 112's
2- Ampeg 210 AV's
2- Eden 410 xlt's
2- 70's Ampeg 810's
1- Ampeg 810 AV
1- Ampeg classic 4x8 cab
1- Ampeg classic 115 cab
1- Ampeg reissue B15 with matching extension cab

Heck could have even played through my sansamp or other pre, on ears with my buttkicker if we had the means to run it.

It wasn't a paid position, strictly volunteer work. And we were actually pretty loud, services are 90- 100db at FOH so a 112 didn't really keep up with the drums.

I had been using the 70's SVT rig with no problem for over a year before anyone ever really brought it up.

Doesn't really matter now, we stopped attending that church a while back.

I would never appreciate any gig where they whine about the way your gear looks and then underpay you or not at all. And I especially wouldn't appreciate a damn priest sticking his finger in my face and yelling at me when I'm working free. I can only take so much and then I have my breaking point. Those two gigs discussed here are beyond my breaking point.
