No again. It depends on the head. If it has the juice to drive it to its capacity it will be 6dB louder than when it was throttled back to not blow the 4x10, all things being equal

Same wattage into a 410 and 810 will only give you 3db difference.

That's not all things being equal then, you would have to throttle the amp back further than it already was to only get 3dB louder.

A tube amp? The OP was using a Ampeg SVT.
