It really doesn't oscillate at all, at least not the one time I tried it. The Timebender has so much going on that I didn't even worry about that.Dude. I want that delay pedal. So bad. Wow.
I have a question. Can you do oscillations sweeps with the delay knob?? As in, can you hit a note or strum a chord, and then while that's repeating, turn the delay knob and have it go from really fast all the way back down to really slow yet have it keep its self together solidly while going all the way through that delay spectrum?? Or does it just tweak out and go all nutty like most delays do?
Thanks man, I'd really appreciate the feedback on it. It would really help me decide rather or not I should stick with what I have or go with the time bender. Either way, wow, looks like a pimp a** delay. Those octave delays are cra cra.
And yes, the pitch and octaves are crazy. Pitch bent modulated loops man. It has a filter setting too that is just wild.Dude. I want that delay pedal. So bad. Wow.

From what I can tell, the Obscura has the best of the best of the Timebender as a delay. The Timebender can control the delay time by 5 milisecond intervals, all kinds of delay patterns, a looper, modulation, pitch patterns, stereo and expression pedal inputs, tap tempo and presets.Dude. I want that delay pedal. So bad. Wow.

I didn't make the petition, the guy Noiseniche on Instagram did. I'm just posting it because it would be really cool to get an updated version of it.Thanks @Somnambulance for making that. I just signed it.
For a little background on the Space Station... there was actually a pretty epic thread on TGP a year or two ago asking for a reissue. Tom answered quite a few questions in the thread. Basically, the problem is that to redo the SS would require a lot of R&D. Hopefully I'm remembering things correctly but I think he said they would have to redo all of the algorithms to work on current hardware. Obviously they could use the Whammy chassis so the problem is really the investment it would take to recreate the algos. We got the Bass Whammy because they were able to tweak algorithms already coded for the newest guitar Whammy.
The Space Station was a commercial flop for DigiTech so I can understand them being reluctant to do a reissue. With the rise of shoegaze, ambient, and most of all P&W I really think the gear climate is perfect for a pedal like that though. Even better would be to give it the ability to be updated through USB and edited on the computer. There are a lot of things they could do to make it attractive to a lot of different players.
Yeah, Timebender is crazy. They show up for like $160 sometimes but you need to snatch them up when they show up. Usual price I've seen on reverb is $250.Thanks for some feedback on that @Somnambulance. I was watching some demos on it last night and I'm pretty sure it'll do what I want it to. Man it sounds like it's sort of an ultimate delay. I think I'm gonna get one eventually. It should take the place of both my delays.
I don't know if you picked it up in that P&E interview with Tom cram, but the obscura is pretty much the hardwire DL8, which I have, yet it's not as broad yet more focused in the things it does. Tom said it's based off of it but at the same time it's different. It uses the same board and some of the same features but can do some different things. I was pretty set on replacing my DL8 with it. But now that I've seen what the time bender can do, I'm pretty confident that it's the one I'd want.
It's like that on mine too, like 1pm and I can hear it. Every knob at least at 12 too.So I got my meatbox

But, I think something's wrong with it. I have to crank the output up to like 3 o'clock For it to be heard. Is that normal???
DO A WHAMMY DIVEBOMB INTO THE MEATBOX DIMEDSo I got my meatbox

But, I think something's wrong with it. I have to crank the output up to like 3 o'clock For it to be heard. Is that normal??? In fact, I've gotta crank everything to hear it. At noon, I can't hear it. Like barely. I know it's more of a felt than heard thing, but dang.
With normal bass amps the behavior you are describing is normal. The frequencies are low enough that you have to get some good volume going to hear them, but when you are hooked up to a subwoofer or to a PA, your levels will end up lower. For example, Juan dimes everything except for the overall output when he's running through his bass amp.
That said, be real careful with the levels! If you see or hear clipping at any point in your chain - turn down.
Yeah my Peavey has a clipping warning thing that will just shut the amp down, but my limiter lets me dimd every knob on the Meatbox and bleed just enough of that madness into the amp, thereby shaking walls with a little 1x12/6Thanks for chiming in man! I was a little concerned. But that makes total sense. Luckily I have a clip warning light on my GK. it will teach me where my safe levels are. Of course my ears help too. But with that said, these freqs are extremely low. So it's nice to have some monitoring. I need to get a limiter.
Did you get a shipped notification?Another day....another stop by the post lady....with no pedal......
