Meatbox reissue, huh?

I'm enjoying my Meatbox quite a bit. I dime nothing except master volume, and thus dialed to taste, it can be very subtle while still imparting a sense of cavernous massiveness.

My main group's rehearsal studio has an Ashdown amp that features a switchable octave effect, and I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Meatbox reissues share some circuitry/components with that effect. It's true that I can almost perfectly replicate the Ashdown's sound on my 'box, which is great because it's pretty fantastic-sounding.

Has anyone ever found out if there are any differences between the current meatbox and the former reissue that was said to be no longer made because certain chips were no longer available-ever...?
If there are; what are those differences?
Do they sound different from oneanother?
