Medium Volume Stage Sound Help

Big boomy room. About 1000 seats. No monitors. Big stage. Drummer in cage but I am standing next to him and still get a lot of the acoustic sound. We have in-ears that are mid fidelity. I prefer to leave one in-ear out and get my stage volume from a GK Neo115 on top of an Ampeg 410HLF. I had the stack too close to me and was blowing everyone away when I was at the levels I like.

After my stage volume was adjusted to the point the sound guy was happy, I could barely hear myself. I went back to two in-ears but I just don't like the whole 2 dimensional sound and the bass sound coming thru the in-ear system is not very good.

I am wondering if there is a way to get loud stage volume for myself without disrupting everyone else. I could scoot the stack back 10 feet. I tried a similar setup at a different place a month ago and did not find the greater distance helped that much. I still could not get as loud as I would like.

Or I could purchase a stand and tilt the 115 back at me about 6-8 feet away. I question how much that really cuts down on my stage volume. I know bass frequencies can be omni directional.

Or I just suffer with the in-ears. At least I can taylor make my own stereo mix for everyone else.

How do your IEMs sound with pre-recorded music? If not so good, therein lies the problem. If good, the problem is a mix or individual channel EQ problem.

If using a cabinet, it should be pointed directly at your head so you can hear everything that it's doing. The closer you are, the louder it will be, save perhaps below 400Hz. But get close enough, and the lows will pick back up again.

What amp are you using? Bass? Style of music? I had an HLF and found that the lows were just overwhelming the rest of the sound. Maybe try the single 15 route, add more mids to your amp eq. I assume the bass is DI to the house? Do you run a lot of FX or OD/Dirt?
