Meet Fred Flinstone

Cool Bass, huh? "Fred" weighs about 12-15 lbs, Kind of like a 70's Jazz or a Peavey T-40. It balances really well on a strap. It's bulky, but still playable. And yes, it is a spray-bomb burst (anything else wouldn't of been right). Those are passive volume & tone pots (solid shaft), no knobs.

That's me mugging for the camera. I did take a couple of photos of Phillip with Fred, I'll get a pic. of them together soon.

The guy is a great bass player (& hilarious too!)), he decided to build a bass with no preconceived notions and he did it. It doesn't get cooler than that!
 
Silly question... You said Phil repairs Surf Boards in Tenn...... How much surfing goes on in Tennessee ????

I didn't say that he was successful...It's a weird wacky world that we live in.

I realize that it's been awhile, but here is a photo of Phil; the owner & the builder of Fred. Like I said previously; He's a great bass player and one cool dude!
