Megadeth stuck with the thrash roots much better than Metallica did.

That's a fallacy; Megadeth always basically copied what Metallica did. Case in point: when Metallica sold out with the laughable "Enter Sandman" with the stupid "Now I lay me down to sleep" cliched crap, Megadeth suddenly came out with that watered down garbage "Go To Hell" with the same exact nursery rhyme in it. Just lame as hell. No way did Megadeth stick with "thrash roots" better than anyone; they sold out the second they saw Metallica do it.

Also: RISK.

Maybe I missed it, but where's the nursery rhyme in the song?

I'm not saying they didn't, but they had one more good album under their belt than James and crew. Everything since Countdown has been utter crap, IMO, but everything after Justice has also been crap, IMO. I pick Megadeth because I prefer Peace Sells and RIP to most Metallica stuff, and because they did more thrash for more albums. Even Justice was starting to lose it with the acoustic sections. I love Opeth's acoustic work, but I don't think it works in thrash.

Endgame was amazing' United Abominations was alright, 13 and super collider were crap.

Without Cliff or Jason and James' voice (I can't listen to him anymore) It's Megadeth for me. Metallica changed my life but I wouldn't pay to see some 50 year old man that lost his voice and the scumbag that is Last Ulrich. Also, they're asking for ridiculous prices for tickets.

IMO, Mustaine being kicked out of Metallica is one of the best things that happened in the metal history, just like Cliff's death being one of the worst things.

Metallica just headlines the Glastonbury festival here ( with Dolly Parton the day after). Facebook comments from musician friends all said the same thing. Boring and musically lazy. A few wondered if they really wanted to be there, and a few suggested they had lost it completely. Just a bit of a mess. The Brits, however lived Dolly Parton who just made it all seem so easy. So the metal heads in the audience seemed to like country better judging by what we saw?

Honestly, I prefer other metal subgenres, so if I'm listening to thrash it's basically early Megadeth, occasionally Metallica, but most often Death Angel (now that's a thrash band that stayed true).

I voted Metallica. While Megadeth may have more "decent" albums, none of them touch Metallicas first 3.

But It's not the same 4 guys who made that first 3 albums, that's why I wote Megadeth. (Jason's ok though, she's a thrash metal genious who unfortunately got stuck in Metallica for too long.)

My all time favorite album is Master of Puppets, still I'd go see Megadeth rather than giving money to that scumbag Lars Ulrich.
