One of my best friends growing up knew Townes from his days in Austin, Tx. I had the opportunity to party a little bit with Townes back in the 1970s'.
You are SO RIGHT when you say, "Nothing quite like him." Part of Townes' ashes are buried across the lake from me out here in the Dido Cemetary NW of Fort Worth, Texas. I still visit the gravesite once a year. RIP Townes.
