Mesa/Boogie Official Club Thread...Part #2

Guess so. Still, it should be easy enough to just reach over and switch it off though, if not going the pedal route. But I like the tracking of my DTR-1 more than most stuff out there, and don't have a pedalboard ATM so works great.

What bothers you about the rack tuner moving? Unless you're playing pretty slow, usually it doesn't like "track" the note extremely well. It sometimes will just sit there like it's not getting a signal. I never notice it, honestly.

I don't own a rack tuner personally so I can't say. But I find it visually distracting when seeing shows where there's a little old-school Cylon eye drifting back-and-forth all night. From the reviews I've read on some tuners when they're on and don't have a signal it's even more annoying. I think it was a Fender rack tuner review I read. Really, this is all deviating from the MESA centric discussions here.

I just wanted to know if the tuner out was on all the time or not.

Again, in my dream world it'd all work exactly like a pedal tuner. It's visually off when not in use (the way most of the pedal tuners work by default anyway) and visually on when engaged.

Nothing monumental. It's not a huge issue to click mute and turn on the tuner, then off if I don't like the Cylon eye watching me play.

Haha ok, then yeah I think it's going to be a "full time" signal for sure. I know my Titan was. I can't see the 750 being different in that regard, TBH!

Does anyone know if the headcase for the M9 is the same as for the M6? I'm selling mine and was asked if it'd fit the M6.

Called 'em. They said the M9 is the same height and width as the M6 and only .25 inches deeper so the M6 should fit just fine.

After trying ampeg amps for the last 2 weeks in different store, after reading so many bad comments about their reliability. After trying the new gk combo i decided to try the Mesa stuff.

I really enjoy the experience.

I tried a Scout 15'' combo and a M6 2x12 combo. They are both the same price. I'm buying this combo mainly for home practicing, sometimes practicing with my band, playing rock,blues and funk (almost no slap).

I think the 15'' scout might be a better choice. I like it when my rig produce some deep bass he mesa M6 carbine would be a better choice. am i wrong?

I tought about the M3 combo but i'm worried it won't produce enough bass. am i right?

The M3 is a small M6-deciding between them is mainly a question of power needs and price, not tone or bass. The Walkabout is better IMO for warm, fat, old school tone but can do clean as well, whereas the M series excels at clarity and punch. If your band is not crazy loud and/or you always have PA support then any of these options will work for you. Keep in mind the M6 combo weighs a ton. My personal favorite for tone would be a Walkabout 12 combo and a 12 ext cab, but for the most versatile gigging setup I'd favor an M6 with a pair of Mesa 210s or 212s. You could easily play Theatre St Denis with that setup Small stuff or home use with one cab, or demolish Place Ville Marie with both

I'm mostly into fat, warm stuff but i like clean once in a while.

I will probably go with the walkabout but haven't decided yet the 12'' or the 15''. I normally prefer 15'' deep bass but honnestly the bass on the 12'' combo is impressive..

I will use for home practicing 90% of the time, i'll bring it to band practice only once in a wheel for fun, to change from my GK rig. I just wish the combo ill be loud enough to play with the drummer and guitar.

The 12 combo alone will be enough if the others are sane. If they love to be loud you will likely need and ext cab. You caould put the combo on top of whatever cab is in the rehearsal space. The 15 combo is considerably louder than the 12, but also much bulkier and about 10 lbs more.

Looks like Mesa will be sending my Titan V12 head to me today ...should be here in a few days . Just curious if anyone has powered a 4 ohm Genz Benz Uber 410 cab with thier Titan and how did it sound? I really liked this cab alot when I was using it with my hybrid Genz Benz GBE1200 head. It had a really fat, warm, yet tight and punchy sound. Peace...DAcat

Based on tone alone, I'd go with the walkabout Scout 12. Using a bigger cab with the WA head works for most any situation, the single 12 is quite loud, for a single 12. The Carbines are also killer, but completely different tonal goals. The 2x12 M6 combo would be enough amp for me, in *any* situation, but I'd still rather tote a 2x12 cab and my WA head.

It's seems like the WA head is liked by many people.

I'm just curious about the scout 12", do i have to be worried about ''boxiness'' with this combo? It's a common problem that i had with 12'' single speaker i had in the past

Hey Rickenboogie...Cool ...have you tried any other Mesa Boogie head with your Uber 212 cab? The Uber 410 did sound great with my Mesa Walkabout though!! Peace...DAcat

No, I only own one other, a Buster 210 combo. Used to own tons of Ampeg heads and cabs, and combo's, but have since pared down to only these 2 Mesa amps, plus a couple of small combo's.
