Mesa/Boogie Official Club Thread...Part #2

Quick question for you Mesa users that have knobs for Gain, Master Volume, and Output Level. How do you use these? I generally set the gain and master and leave it, then use the Output Level for overall volume. Is that what everyone else does? Or do you set the Output Level and adjust Master to volume? Thanks.

So would I. Mesa are you listening (reading)? I'd also pay the extra for tuner out, mute and an aux in on my Walkabout to bring it up to speed with the competition in the features realm. Many bass players can use an aux in for a drum machine, ipod or 'puter to practice with......THAT'S WHY GENZ BENZ SUPPLIES THESE FEATURES:D

You have the tone, now man-up with the modern features, fer cryin' out loud.

NickRich: it sure feels like it has more headroom then the WA.
While I do like the voice control, I generally leave it set on "2," and the M3 is in that same M6 tone family...so...miss it? Yeah, Live without it...I reckon I can.

Lomo: I hear you on the WA feature set. That's a smaller, pretty densely packed box though. Not sure if there's real estate for those, and I like the package size, and I personally don't need an aux in, nor blending for one either. YMMV, of course.

I hear ya. Aux in and phones are optional but sweet, and offered by the competition, even in much smaller boxes at lower prices. Speakons, tuner out and mute, however, are definitely standard features at this price and their absence is definitely a weakness, juicy tone and build quality notwithstanding. IMHO of course:D

I used to have an AG500 for a while.

It was pretty rockin and for 18lbs, a very nice amp.

But I just am in love w/ teh Mesas. I just don't bother fighting it anymore. :cool:

What model are you lookin' at?

What I want is a V12 and a PH412, but I honestly don't have a need for a rig that massive. I loved the tone of that V12 though, and it's been over two years since I tried it out. But with my true needs in mind, I'm thinkin I should get a smaller set-up. I've heard a number of wonderful things about the M-Pulse 600, but I'm a watt junky sadly so I wonder if I may outgrow it. So I guess my options are:

M-Pulse 600/PH212
or
V12/PH412

Well I had that exact same rig and yeah it's a beeyotch to move!
If you want the Titan tone I'd go for the BB750 over the 600. I've had I think 4 600s and now have the 750 and really dig it a lot.

So IMO unless you need switchable inputs, dual channels with OD on both and Solo haha I'd go for the 750.

As far as the cabs though the PH412 is indeed flat out awesome but I've been very happy with the Berg NV610 I have now but may go for the NV412 in the future. But if you went with a 212 I'd go for a 4 ohm cab as both the 750 and Titan like 2 ohms no sweat.
