Right on - I've inspired anothe club! (I was the brains behind the GK club, which I can no longer participate in as I sold off all my GK gear to get a MarkBass SA450 and my Mesa/Boogie Powerhouse 115 cab.. expanding with a Powerhouse 210 at some point! Once I get ahold of a digital camera I'll take some pictures of my rig...

A 400, a 400+, and a Diesel 4x10.

The Mesa D-180 and 400 (non-plus) models were only made for comparatively short periods of time.
The 400+ model is still being manufactured and has been around for many years now, so there's also
allot more used 400+ models available.

(edit)
My Mesa service manual lists the following information:

D-180 - produced 7/82 to 12/85
400 - produced '85 to '89
400+ - produced '89 - present

well, I am a member of the club (at least I posted in the original thread) .. anyway .. I use a Walkabout 12 combo with a Scout 15 as an extension; and I also use a Buster 200 into the Walkabout 12 cab and the Scout 15 for a different tone when the feeling strikes. :bassist:

So, Roon, there's an exception right there. I think there are several Mpulse, Venture and M2000 users int he club too.

I have been looking around for D-180's but they are not always available on the used market. 400+s are just too much for my needs.

So its not ALL about Bass 400+ here

enjoy!

enjoy!

Lovely! One & all....! :bassist:

I also have a Diesel 6x10EV which I haven't got a picture of.... yet! I may be selling it though as it's surplus to requirements....

I'm considering getting either the 400+ or the Titan V12. Completely different animals, I know. I'm leaning towards the Titan V12 because if I want insane gobs of tubey goodness and sizzle, I connect the Ampeg SVP-CL to the Mesa/Boogie Strategy 500 for a total of 20 tubes, and it sizzles like frying a Pterodactyl egg! Just a little light on power, that's all.

Disclaimer: No Pterodactyl eggs were actually harmed in the typing of this post! (This is for all the rights and PC people out there. I know you are out there because you had the Bugs Bunny "Duck Season" cartoon edited for less graphic violence!!!)
