+1! Although the WA has never complained about any cab I've used it with my Berg AE410 is probably the sweetest combination out of all my amps/cabs....which is actually quite extensive now.

No doubt! For the really small rooms, using the WA head with only my Berg HT210 has been a killer "baby rig" as well!
So is everyone using neo loaded cabs these days? Any fans of alnico mag speakers with the Walkabout (Eminence, Celestion, JBL)?
neo is now at a premium, and many cab makers aren't using it anymore. mesa used neo cabs until the production cost went up. that always seemed odd to me, since there are other places to save weight in a mesa cab. if it wasn't for the porting it would create, i'd speed-hole my PH 115.
I'm very fortunate in that I have 2 AE112's and 2 HT115's.
I can loosen kidney stones with the WA and the 2x HT115's!
Question for those with lots of WA Scout experience:
Have you ever tried using two WA Scout combos as a mini-stack? In other words, does the amp head slot and top handle pose a problem with a secure fit with them stacked?
I can always relocate the handle to the side, like on the extension cab. I have the opportunity to purchase a WA combo with no amp to use as an extension cab for my WA Scout, but I'm not sure if it will be secure. I don't want the top vibrating off the bottom, or to run the risk of someone accidentally knocking it off.
Your input is appreciated!

That's my rig... Walkabout/Scout combo, and a 2nd Scout cab (sans amplifier) underneath. The rubber feet will clear the handle and miss the amp slot.
And no, the passive radiator IS NOT affected by stacking.
(lest we digress into that discussion)
They also sound pretty awesome in tandem... as in, side-by-side. Less often, I put mine back-to-back. Depends on the room.

I was eyeballing the top corners of my Scout, wondering if there's enough real estate to secure the feet of another Scout on top. I'm so happy to hear that.
Now, the real question: are you running the original 4-ohm speakers in both, or did you swap out for 8-ohm speakers?

One of each. I keep the Walkabout installed in the 4ohm cab, which is plenty for most gigs, but when a little extra oomph is needed, the 8ohm cab goes along.
Walkabout will handle the 2.67ohm load okay, and I can't really tell any volume difference between the two... ymmv.

well, you're not getting a hugely audible difference between the WA with a single 4ohm or 8ohm cab, but when you run the WA with two cabs (even with different ohms) you should be getting the significant audible advantage of 2 drivers.
I've done it in several variations over the years:
WA12+Scout 12
WA12+Scout15
WA12+Aggie GS112
WA12+PH12
and always noticed the added whump of the second cab. FWIW, my favorite all Mesa combination was the WA12 + Scout 15 ... very nice. But I have drifted away from the WA/Scout cabs in recent years, since I got a Berg CN212 to go with my 2nd gen WA.
I just played another gig, having to play for both bands on a 2 band bill, using the WA and 2xAE112. I got many complements on the sound. The sound was huge and even the soundman said he liked the sound ( they are usually a little jaded in these parts).

IMHO, you don't NEED them. However, you may WANT them.
Mesa amps were made for 12" speakers; it's a perfect match. If you're gonna play large venues, having the 15s will give you more "depth of presence" in a huge place.
Last couple gigs I did with the Walkabout.
Soundman really liked it.
Did Saturdays gig with the MBF500 as the WA really just isn't enough power.
He said, boy, it's just knida missing something compared to that Mesa.
So: I reversed the MBF's gain structure to input high and master low versus my normal "clean" setup of input low, master high.
Soundguy was much happier but said "Mesa really should make a 900 watt version of that.
I was all like, "Yeah. Duh! I've been pushing that idea for some years now."
Soundman really liked it.

I shudder to think what a Walkabout x3 would be like... I'd probably love it and have to have one, but 300w is plenty for this weekend warrior. If you're listening MB, we all want more of a great thing... whether we need it or not.

Heck, a 5 or 600 watt Walkabout would be awesome, but bigger is always better. The trick is to bottle that WA tone in a bigger package. The MPulse 600 was close, but missed the mark.
