yep, I'm running several pedals (Boss CEB-3, iStomp, Tech 21 VTD) through the front end of the Walkabout and it sounds great. I don't use any through the fx in/out though.

How does the Micro Amp work for extra preamp grit? Thought about trying one with WA gain set at 12/12:30, hoping a little boost from the MXR would push it to what happens more in the 2:00 area.

I have my gain set at about 11, and it I'd say it boosts it to that 12/12:30 range, so I think it would give you what you're looking for.

Moderate/low volume brewery patio gig last night. WA through PJB 4B and EUB. Smooth with great tone. I hear he WA making things brighter and richer. Set mostly flat with a little dip @ 60hz.

Just finished up a gig at an old landmark movie theater in Buchanan, Va. Walkabout wasn't even breathing hard, input at noon, master and DI at about 10:00.

Why, thank you! I love the simplicity of just using the 4ohm Scout combo cab... something to be said for just plug-n-play. Used a pinch of MXR BassChorus too, for the fretless Renaissance bass.

yeah, nice bass indeed. I have a 4 string fretless Ren. great sound with those TI strings and the WA.

@Chef, remember back a while I told you I couldn't tell the volume difference between the active and passive inputs on my older WA?

Well, I think it's because plugging into the active input wasn't engaging the pad. Finally, it starting working sporadically while in use (cutting in and out) and I could hear the obvious difference, like on my newer Walkabout. Per your advice, I mostly just use the passive input anyway.

I was planning on sending it out to MB for upgrades this Spring anyway, but mystery solved.

Tried that, but was afraid to get too trigger happy. Didn't do much good on a couple shots. Okay to hose it down with deoxit?

shoot some on the end of a cable and work it in and out many times
then, follow up with a shot on a q-tip and work that about a bit

then wait for it to dry well before using the unit

I've had success with bristled pipe cleaners. I bend one in half and spray with deoxit then work it around in the jack. That usually does the trick for me.

I only ever use the active input while in the practice room anyway, but it probably wouldn't hurt to give them both some attention.
