I spose the vintage Powerhouse 212 looks aesthetically like a scout, yes? Be nice to have it match up dimension wise

Put the tubes in Steve sent me (thanks again), and OH MAN!!!! Now we're talkin'! This thing has some serious nuts! Tung-Sol in V1 spot, and JJ in V2 spot...the power is where it should be for 300 watts, the bottom is think and punchy, mids are nice a textured but clear, and highs are sweet! I'm a believer! Thanks for the help guys!![]()
Bottom line is if you want louder than 2 12s will give you with the Walkabout, either pull the head and use a larger cab (410 or whatever) at 4 Ohms or, if you have the 12 combo, change your combo speaker to 8 Ohms (about 150 from Mesa direct or a dealer-a 10 minute mod doable by anyone with a screwdriver) and get a larger 4 \ohm ext cab to put under it. Eg an 8 Ohm 12 combo with a 4 Ohm 212 under it will spread the power pretty evenly across the 3 drivers and give much more cone area and volume than a pair of 12s. IME the WA can easily handle the 2.7 Ohm load of this setup.
Would it be the same diff to leave the 4 Ohm speaker in the Scout and pair it with an 8 Ohm 2x12 instead?
