Mesa Boogie Walkabout Part 5!!!

Well, I'm joining the WAS club (metaphorically speaking). When this beautiful rig popped up in the Classified folder on Tuesday, it was love at first site. It's currently on a transcontinental journey, due to arrive on Tuesday. I've spent the last two days reading through Part IV of the Megathread (I don't think I have the fortitude to venture any further back, lol!), and I've learned a hell of a lot, thanks to you guys. Hopefully I'll be able to get a sweet, vintage tone dialed in fairly quickly and live happily ever after :D

OK...that's right there too! I don't gas much for basses anymore, but these rigs are killing me! Love my WA and headcase, but these finishes rock!

Yeah, Man--it's about the sexiest rig I've ever seen. I look at the finishes Mesa offers, and some of them are killer in theory, but I don't know how great they'd look in practice--it would be SO easy to go overboard, you know? To me, this is gorgeous but not over the top. I'm not sure if the previous owner ever posted it before the sale, but he actually did the recover and built the extension cab himself (it has the Eminence 12, but not the tweeter or radiator, which is cool with me), and from the pics, it looks like he did a stellar job. He is CLEARLY more talented than I!

This isn't that recent of a pic; there's now a blackface in my headcase, but, this will give you an idea of what the WA on top of the two LDS 2x8's adds up to:

Anyone know where to get taller feet for the Walkabout head? I just bought an Ampeg 210AV to pair with it for practice (we're currently rehearsing in a third-floor walkup ), and the head doesn't clear the handle. Not a big deal for now, but if I buy a second 210AV I want to stack them without worrying about the WA taking a fall.

Not sure on the feet but when I had my last Walkabout I had a similar issue to yours with my NeoX-112T cabs so I bought furniture pads from the local hardware store and attached them to the feet already on the Walkabout. Raised it just enough to clear the handle and provided some "cushion" for the head.

You can also get small circular brown rubber "carpet seats" (2" dia) that have a lip around the edge, used for sofa legs. I use 'em for lots of similar apps & they cushion vibration very well. Just toss 'em in your gig bag.
