Mesa Boogie Walkabout Part 5!!!

Spending more quality time with the 4 Ohm Avatar TB153 under my Walkabout and loving it. Not dialing down the bass at all, just bumping low mids at 200ish and rolling off at 1.5 K......wow. This box takes all she can push and sounds glorious. I play few gigs, but will play this combination out March 19th in a small bar without PA support. I think it'll be plenty loud and thick as a brick. Next up is some tube rolling when I get around to trying the small collection of 12AX7s I've accumulated....

Lomo - Appreciate your cab and SL comparisons; will await to hear more about the WA and TB153 with a loud band

To the rest of you:
Anybody just carry the WA head without any rack bag, rack cabinet, or head case?
Hate the thought of scratching it up but it's so small that any of the above seem like overkill.
Did research a camera style case a few weeks ago and Pelican did not have anything close to the right size.

I use the Mesa WA bag, but for my amateur gigs it's always riding in my car. Had the headcase, which looks great, but transforms a 15lb messenger bag into a 25ish lb rack....wasn't for me.

How adorable!!!

BTW, Her's is better because it has a whammy bar!

Its a Belkin Wilshire Messenger... internal dimensions are 17" x 13" x 3.5". Nice and wide and square.

Looks pretty dorky but is a pretty lightweight, practical bag. Looks strong (ish) but lets see how it holds up.
\W.A fits snugly with about ... 12cm for a power and speaker lead.

I've cut a lot of the laptop specific padding/pockets out to make more room.

Having a quick scan around - it looks like I scored a screaming bargain. I managed to get it on one of those 'Groupon' style sites: catchoftheday.com.au for $15 with $7 shipping. :D. Have a sniff around and I'm sure something cheap will pop up

The Mesa bag looks good (I use it) and is cheap at 25 bucks, but as Chef posted B4, it's a very snug fit for the head, which is not very convenient, and does not have much room for cables etc.

Yeah, it was a bargain at the old price.
Now, considering it's a very tight fit and a hassle to use for it's intended purpose because of that, it seems overpriced.

I have the bag; and I do use it, but, not for the amp.
I use it for cables, charts, my upright's preamp...stuff like that.

I'm hoping a Streamliner fits in it.
